Das Note 9 ist eine gute Kombination aus dem Besten des Galaxy S9 mit Stift und einigen sinnvollen Verbesserungen. Die Akkkulaufzeit ist für ein Gerät dieser Leistungsklasse fantastisch, die Kameras sind spitze, der Stift wurde sinnvoll weiterentwickelt, und der ohnehin üppige Speicher ist noch erweiterbar. Gut Voraussetzungen also, wäre da nicht der vielleicht angemessene, aber ziemlich hohe Preis.

Was es aber nicht ist, ist spannend, atemberaubend oder so besonders, dass es ein Must Have ist. In Apple-Sprache wäre es ein Note 8s.

Sowohl Display, Prozessor als auch Kamerasystem sind zwar besser als beim Vorgängermodell, aber sehr ähnlich bis gleich zum aktuellen Samsung Galaxy S9-Plus-Modell. Ein echte Weiterentwicklung ist der S Pen, der smartere Eigenschaften und eigene Hardware bekommen hat. Für Nutzer, die das Galaxy Note 9 beruflich für Präsentationen verwenden wollen, sind die Funktionen ein Mehrwert. Wer allerdings auf die Funktionen oder überhaupt einen Eingabestift gar keinen Wert legt, sollte sich überlegen, ob das Galaxy S9 Plus nicht ausreichend ist. Einen Sprung nach vorne macht Samsung aber mit der Speicherkapazität des Galaxy Note 9. Die große Variante mit 512 GB kann es mit entsprechender microSD-Karte auf über 1 TB schaffen.

Das neue Galaxy Note 9 hat wieder einen einsteckbaren Stift. Den S Pen hat Samsung etwas verbessert: Der Stift hat jetzt ein Bluetooth-Modul eingebaut und lässt sich auch als Fernbedienung benutzen. In short, the Note 9 is still a winner of a device. Even as its cameras have been beaten by Samsung’s own successors – the S10+ and most recently the A80 – they certainly get the job done. While the Note 10 is waiting around the corner, this, for the time being, is the best Note yet, and a phone I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed with. The best part is that overseas at least, its prices have been dropping, and likely will do so further when the Note 10 does arrive.

I absolutely loved my time with the Note 9. Yes, I know it’s nearly double the price of my beloved OnePlus devices, but it’s just a truly gorgeous screen to look at, with a fantastic feel in the hand ( improved in a case). The battery lasted me the whole day with plenty to spare at bedtime. The 3.5mm headphone jack is still here and even though the S Pen has its own silo, the device is still fully waterproof. The S Pen adds some nice features, but not something I would use all the time. Although there’s no Android 9 Pie, it is rumoured to becoming available in Feb this year and that will add the Samsung One UI. Yes its expensive at £899, and we all know that in a few months its will be half that, and at that point I’ll be seriously looking at getting one.

It could easily be the number one choice for people who are willing to spend as much as it takes to have the latest and greatest features. However, it isn't very significantly differentiated from the Galaxy S series anymore, and in fact due to the vagaries of online pricing in India, all variants of the Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9 Plus and Galaxy Note 9 (except the 512GB Galaxy Note 9) are priced within roughly Rs. 10,000 of each other right now. The 128GB version of the Galaxy Note 9 costs almost exactly as much as the 128GB Galaxy S9 Plus. The experiences you get will be nearly identical, so the choice really comes down to having the S Pen versus having a slightly more portable device, or saving a bit of money. If you already own a Galaxy S8 or Galaxy Note 8, there's practically no reason at all to upgrade.

Modell: Immer schon bot das Galaxy Note Personen mit höheren Ansprüchen leistungsstarke Hardware. Das Samsung Galaxy Note 9 übertrifft diese hohen Erwartungen sogar, indem es sich auf das Wichtigste in der heutigen mobilen Welt, in welcher man ständig verfügbar sein muss, konzentriert. Es misst 161,9 x 76,4 x 8,8 mm und wiegt 201 Gramm. Als Bildschirm nutzt das Note 9 ein 6,4 Zoll großes, fast rahmenloses Super-AMOLED-Infinity-Display mit einer Auflösung von 2.960 x 1.440 Pixeln (Quad HD+). Ergänzt wird der Bildschirm durch einen monochromen Metallrahmen, der in einer Reihen von lebendigen Farben verfügbar ist sowie einen dazu passenden oder kontrastierender S-Pen. Der gänzlich neue S Pen nutzt nun leistungsstarke Bluetooth-Technologie. Er ermöglicht Usern per Tastendruck Kamera, Präsentationen und Apps zu steuern, ohne das Phone zu berühren. Beim Zeichnen, Notieren oder Senden von Live-Messages ist der S Pen dank seiner feinen Spitze und 4.096 Druckstufen intuitiv und so natürlich wie Bleistift auf Papier verwendbar. Ein Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Octa-Core-Prozessor (4x 2,7 GHz Kryo 385 Gold & 4x 1.7 GHz Kryo 385 Silver) und eine Adreno 630 GPU sorgen für großartige Leistung.
