Nicht einmal eine Woche auf den Thron, bei unserer Kategorie Gaming-Notebooks 15 Zoll, muss das ASUS M50SA diesen auch schon wieder räumen. Das Dell XPS M1530 setzt in jedem Bereich noch eins drauf. So stellte es dank des Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 Prozessors (2,5 GHz) und der sehr schnellen 200 GByte großen Hitachi Festplatte (7200 U/min) einen echten Richtwert (763 Punkte) im PassMark Performance Test auf. Bei der Spieleleistung muss sich das Dell XPS M1530 teilweise geschlagen geben. Die Leistung der Grafik ist dennoch eine der besten im 15-Zoll-Bereich. Ausführliches im Gamecheck. Das WXGA+ Display ist derzeit eines der besten, die man im 15 Zoll Bereich bekommen kann. 238 cd/m² bei der durchschnittlichen Leuchtstärke und 700:1 beim Kontrast sprechen eine deutliche Sprache.

Äußere und innere Werte ergänzen sich sehr gut beim Dell XPS M1530. Der schicke Allrounder zeigte im Test kaum Schwächen und glänzt insgesamt mit einem sehr guten Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

The Anaconda's XPS M1530 Review

The audio is an Azalea HD Audio codec. The speakers themselves on the unit aren't very powerful, and sound somewhat tinny, though that will probably smooth out as the speakers get broken in.
One thing I'm somewhat disappointed in is the lack of a locking mechanism on the lid, you just push closed and open again without any way of keeping it closed while transporting it. Otherwise I'm loving it very much, and am very satisfied with it.

Bei Dells XPS M1530 passt einfach alles. Es gefiel der Redaktion in Sachen Design am besten und es ist in technischer Hinsicht gut ausgestattet. Auch im Test bekam das Dell-Notebook die höchste Punktzahl. Auch der Preis stimmte.

I have yet to do a proper drain test of the 6 cell battery, so please excuse this asl a work in progress. One other thought is that the fingerprint reader doesn't seem to work for MbWife, however it works just fine for me. Maybe she's a spy? We'll have to tune in later for that one... I will say that my intial impression is very favorable. I like this laptop very much and would recommend it to anyone.

Das Dell XPS M1530 präsentierte sich im Test als schickes und kompaktes Multimedianotebook mit erstklassigen Leistungsdaten aber trotzdem auch leichten Schwächen. Hinsichtlich Gehäuse können vor allem die hochwertigen eingesetzten Materialien punkten. Aluminiumteile beim Display und Baseunit tragen sowohl zu einer angenehmen Haptik als auch zu einer guten Stabilität der gesamten Chassis bei.
Bei der Verarbeitung sind uns trotz einem insgesamt hochwertigen Eindrucks des Gehäuses einige kleinere Schwachstellen aufgefallen. Da wären zum Beispiel etwas unsaubere Spaltmaße im Bereich des Akku Schachtes oder ungewöhnlich unterschiedliche Abstände bei den Displayscharnieren. Die Tastatur überzeugte mit gutem Tippkomfort und wie auch das Touchpad durch die gut gelungene gestalterische Integration in das Gesamterscheinungsbild.

90%Dells schicker Gaming-Einsteiger

Dells XPS M1530 gibt es in verschiedenen Ausstattungsvarianten von knapp 1000 Euro bis zu über 1800 Euro. Wer statt einer normalen Festplatte eine 64-GByte-Solid-State-Disk nimmt, zahlt noch mal 1200 Euro zusätzlich und kann sein XPS M1530 in den Bereich von über 3000 Euro bringen.
Unser Testmodell liegt jedoch bei vergleichsweise bescheidenen ca. 1210 Euro zuzüglich Versand (Stand 13.12.2007). Dafür gibt es einen Intel Core-2-Duo T7250 (2 GHz), 2048 MByte RAM, 160 GByte Festplatte (5400 rpm), normalem DVD-Brenner, Grafikkarte Nvidia GeForce Go 8600M-GT (256 MByte eigener Speicher) und Windows Vista Home Premium. Das Dell XPS M1530 überzeugt in dieser Konfiguration mit sehr guter Verarbeitung und guter Anwendungsleistung (527,9 Punkte im PassMark Performance Test).
Alles in Allem erfüllt das Dell XPS M1530 die hohen Erwartungen, die an den Namen XPS gestellt werden. Selbst in einer "günstigen" Konfiguration bekommt der Käufer ein optisch und technisch "rundes" Gerät. Die Leistung der Grafik ist eine der besten im 15-Zoll-Bereich.

Make no mistake, the Dell XPS M1530 is a simply fantastic laptop. If portability is high on your agenda then its more petite stablemate, the XPS M1330, is a better choice, but with its fine combination of ergonomics, power and design, the XPS M1530 is the finest 15.4in laptop we've ever encountered. A superb laptop, combining excellent ergonomics and slick looks with a good dollop of power.

I really love the XPS M1530 in terms of its looks and just overall cool factor. The performance for this sized notebook is absolutely amazing as well. This notebook is great for those that want to be portable and have power on the go, plus be fashionable at the same time. If you're just sitting at a desk all day doing work. Overall there's a lot to love about the M1530 and it's easy to recommend.

Overall, the Dell XPS M1530 is a solid addition to the Dell notebook lineup. We praised the smaller XPS M1330 for having "a design that is second to none in its price range" but we didn't feel quite as strong about the design of the larger M1530. While this is certainly the hottest 15.4" notebook available from Dell, it's hard to shake the feeling that we're looking at a "fat" M1330 with a larger screen.
While issues like a noisy slot-loading drive, noisy hard drive, and limited screen options will make some demanding buyers look elsewhere, the M1530 is an excellent alternative to HP's popular dv6500t notebook in the same price range.

Un design sobrio e curato nei minimi particolari rende il Dell XPS M1530 un notebook dalla bellezza discreta, in grado di affascinare anche gli utenti più esigenti. I bordi argentati, il coperchio rosso, nero o blu, la base in alluminio, si amalgamano a formare un insieme equilibrato, senza eccessi. La dotazione hardware può essere modulata attraverso il consueto meccanismo delle opzioni BTO a seconda dei bisogni e del budget degli acquirenti, mantenendosi comunque sopra la media, grazie ai processori Intel Merom di generazione Santa Rosa e alla versatile scheda video Nvidia Geforce 8600M GT con 256MB di memoria DDR3. Un aggiornamento con le nuove CPU Intel Penryn a 45nm è atteso come imminente.

NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT: DirectX 10 Mittelklasse Grafikkarte für Notebooks mit ausreichend Performance für aktuelle Spiele und H.264 Beschleunigung. Dank doppelt so vieler Stream Prozessoren als die GS Version etwas schneller bei Spielen.

Wie bei der Leistungsklasse 1 sind auch diese Karten vergleichbar mit den Desktopgrafikkarten mit dem selben Namen. Neueste Spiele sollten mit allen Details flüssig laufen (jedoch nicht in den höchsten Auflösungen und ohne Antialiasing).

Intel Core 2 Duo: Core Duo Nachfolger mit längerer Pipeline und 5-20% Geschwindigkeitszuwachs bei 0.5 - 3 Watt mehr Stromverbrauch.

Der Notebook Core 2 Duo ist baugleich mit den Desktop Core 2 Duo Prozessoren, jedoch werden die Notebook-Prozessoren mit niedrigeren Spannungen und geringerem Frontsidebus Takt betrieben. Von der Leistung bleiben gleichgetaktete Notebooks deswegen (und auch wegen der langsameren Festplatten) 20-25% hinter Desktop PCs.

15.4": 15 Zoll Display-Varianten sind der Standard und werden für mehr als die Hälfte aller Notebooks verwendet. 15.4 Zoll Displays mit 16:10 sind bei Notebook-Displays der Standard schlechthin.

Der Grund der Beliebtheit mittelgrosser Displays ist, dass diese Größe einigermaßen augenschonend ist und dennoch nicht allzu viel Strom verbraucht und die Geräte noch halbwegs kompakt sein können.

2.63 kg: Dieses Notebook ist etwas leichter als der Durchschnitt aller Notebooks. Für Subnotebooks ist das bereits zu schwer. 14 Zoll Displays passen in diesen Gewichtsbereich.
