This laptop is an excellent update of the previous 14-inch Swift 3s. It's a slightly more expensive product, but at the same time it fixes many of their issues and compromises on very few aspects. The compact form-factor, the excellent build quality, the fast and accurate keyboard, the matte IPS screen, the hardware specs, the performance and the speakers are among its main top selling points, but at the same time potential buyers have to accept the slightly heavier construction and the fact that it runs hot with demanding loads.

Seeing one of these effortlessly handle a 10GB file transfer was very impressive. For people who need to work on the go, particularly people who shoot and edit video, this will be a real plus. As for how the Acer Swift 3 handles the rest of that supply chain – i.e. actually handling the editing and rendering – remains to be seen, but Intel’s promised us a boost in this department, too. I’m a little less keen on the flexy metal body, but maybe that’s just me. It definetly doesn’t feel ‘cheap’ and I do love how lightweight the Swift 3 is.

NVIDIA GeForce MX150: Pascal GP108 basierende Notebook-Grafikkarte und mobile Version der GT 1030. Bietet 384 Shader und meist 2 GB GDDR5 Grafikspeicher.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

i3-8145U: Auf der Whiskey Lake / Kaby-Lake-Architektur basierender ULV-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für schlanke Notebooks und Ultrabooks.
