Das Alcatel Idol 5s ist ein Smartphone, das vor allem mit seinen toll klingenden Stereolautsprechern punkten kann. Abgesehen von der veralteten Software gibt es für ein Mittelklasse-Handy ansonsten auch keine größeren Kritikpunkte. Für die gebotene Technik erscheint uns der Preis allerdings etwas zu hoch.

Mit dem neuen Smartphone-Quartett hält Alcatel ein ansehnliches Blatt in der Hand. Ob sich auch ein echter Trumpf darunter befindet, wird ein ausgiebiger Einzeltest zeigen. Bei unserem Hands-On fiel entpuppte sich keines der vier Geräte auf Anhieb als schwarzer Peter. Den bleibendsten Eindruck haben dabei eindeutig das Idol 5S aufgrund seiner Verarbeitung und das A7 XL aufgrund seiner Größe hinterlassen.

The Alcatel Idol 5S is a solid unlocked phone that offers good overall performance for a reasonable $200. But it falls a bit short compared with the Moto G5 Plus. While the G5 Plus will cost you $30 to $100 more depending on the configuration, it has a longer-lasting battery, better gaming capabilities, and compatibility with all major US carriers. If you can spend even more, the ZTE Axon 7 gets you flagship-level specs at a midrange price. And if you'd prefer to spend less, the Moto E4 offers reasonably smooth performance and features like a removeable battery and dual-band Wi-Fi for just $130.

Qualcomm Adreno 506: Grafikchip für Smartphones und Tablets, integriert im Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC. Basiert auf die 500er Grafikarchitektur wie der schnellere Adreno 520 im Snapdragon 820.

Diese Karten können nur sehr alte und sehr anspruchslose 3D Spiele flüssig darstellen.  Anwendungen wie Office, Internet surfen, Bildbearbeitung oder (SD) Videoschnitt sind jedoch ohne große Einschränkungen möglich.
