Modell: Das Apple MacBook Pro 13 2017 sieht mit seinem schlanken Aluminium-Design gleich wie das Vorjahresmodell aus. Der Laptop ist in Space-Gray oder Silver erhältlich. Mit einem Gewicht von 1,36 kg (3 Pfund) und einer Bauhöhe von 1,52 cm (0,6 Zoll) ist das MacBook Pro schwerer als das Dell XPS 13 (1,22 kg/2,7 Pfund, 1,52 cm/0,6 Zoll) und das Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon (1,13 kg/2,5 Pfund, 1,52 cm/0,6 Zoll), und etwas dicker als das 13-Zoll HP Spectre x360 (1,32 kg/2,9 Pfund, 1,27 cm/0,5 Zoll). Der Bildschirm des MacBook Pro mit einer Auflösung von 2.560 x 1.600 Pixeln und einer Pixeldichte von 227 PPI ist eine Schönheit. Er bietet lebendige Farben und ist scharf. Das MacBook Pro 13 mit Touch Bar ist wiederum das leistungsstärkere Modell unter den beiden 13-Zoll-Systemen, denn Apple verwendet Dual-Core-Prozessoren mit einer TDP von 28 Watt. Davon profitiert besonders die GPU, denn der höhere Verbrauch ermöglicht dem Turbo der beiden Komponenten einen größeren Spielraum. Im Inneren dieses MacBook Pro arbeitet eine Intel Core i5-7267U CPU der siebten Generation in Kombination mit 8 GB RAM, womit ernsthaftes Multitasking möglich ist. Die 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD im MacBook Pro konnte 4,97 GB an Multimedia-Dateien in 7 Sekunden verdoppeln. Das ergibt eine Geschwindigkeit von 727 MBps. Damit ist es viel schneller als der Durchschnitt von 200,83 MBps der ultraportablen Geräte. Zudem unterstützt die Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 im MacBook Pro gemäßigtes Gaming. Die Gaming-Leistung der Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 liegt abhängig vom Spiel zwischen den beiden eigenständigen Nvidia GeForce 930MX und 940MX Grafikkarten . Die Lautsprecher des MacBook Pro konnten unseren großen Konferenzraum mit Klang füllen und unsere laute Klimaanlage übertönen. Während Audio-Profis wahrscheinlich hochwertige Kopfhörer und Lautsprecher zum Anstecken haben, bietet dieses Notebook einen der besten Sounds, den man je von einem ultraportablen Gerät gehört hat. Mit vier Thunderbolt-3-Ports (aufgeteilt auf die linke und rechte Seite) und einer Kopfhörerbuchse zeigt sich, dass Apples in die Zukunft gerichteter Blick zum Anschluss bereits existierende Geräte weiterhin den Kauf von Dongles fordert.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

i5-7267U: Auf der Kaby-Lake-Architektur basierender SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für mittelgroße Notebooks.
