Die UVP von 730 Euro ist zwar immer noch hoch genug, das Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G lässt sich aber durchaus als echte Alter­native zu den teils deut­lich teureren Modellen der Galaxy-S20-Serie bezeichnen. Das Modell ist sehr perfor­mant, hat ein sehr helles Display und die höhere Bild­wie­der­hol­rate von 120 Hz wird sicher­lich auch nicht wenige erfreuen. Das Smart­phone liegt gut in der Hand, weshalb sich über die Kunst­stoff­rück­seite hinweg­sehen lässt. Billig wirkt das Galaxy S20 FE 5G jeden­falls nicht, der veral­tete Display­schutz ist aller­dings ein Nogo in dieser Preis­klasse. Die Kamera liefert sowohl bei ausrei­chenden als auch bei schlechten Licht­ver­hält­nissen gute Bilder. Kritik gibt es aber beim Nacht­modus der Selfie­kamera. Hier könnte mögli­cher­weise ein Soft­ware-Update helfen.

The Plus also has an additional depth sensor on its back for slightly better portrait mode and AR effects. Are those features worth the extra $200 for the larger phone? Only if you really want a bigger screen, extra long battery and super fast 5G on T-Mobile. Verizon offers a mmWave-compatible S20, so your decision will also depend on what carrier you’re on. For most people, though the base S20 is plenty of phone. In the case of this year’s S20 trio, smaller is so much better. I felt like the Ultra was overkill when it came to size, camera features and most importantly, price. At $1,000, the S20 costs about the same as its competitors, though the S20+ still comes in at a premium. But they’re also the best-looking Android flagships around with speedy performance and long battery life. For that money, you’ll also be getting excellent displays and blazing 5G speeds where available. If $1,000 is too much for you, you might want to wait for other options like the rumored Pixel 4a or consider the S10 series, which could offer most of what you need for a fraction of the price. Right now, though, the S20 and S20+ are the best Android phones money can buy.

Obwohl das Samsung Galaxy S20 vergangenes Jahr als ausgezeichnetes Smartphone gepriesen wurde, konnte es die Reihe nicht wie erwartet voranbringen. Mit Akku-Problemen und einem Bildschirm mit wenigen Innovationen schien das Galaxy S10 etwas überflüssig. Doch das Samsung Galaxy S20 könnte als Optimierung Fans erfreuen. Das Samsung Galaxy S20 wurde als die günstigste Variante von Samsungs neuer Reihe vorgestellt, jedoch ist es nicht das erschwinglichste Gerät bis jetzt. Dennoch, weil das S20 an vielen Orten 5G unterstützt, wird der Preis für einige 5G-Fans nicht so wichtig sein.

Die Kamera ist definitiv einen Blick wert. Der Sensor der 12-MP-Hauptkamera wurde vollkommen erneuert, größere Pixel lassen nun mehr Licht ein. So entstehen bessere Aufnahmen mit vielen Details, an denen man sich erfreuen kann. Der schnelle Fokus bietet sogar bei schlechten Lichtverhältnissen ein hochwertiges Benutzererlebnis. Laut Samsung nehme das Galaxy S20 auch wesentlich klarere Nachtaufnahmen auf. Darüber hinaus gibt es eine “Space Zoom”-Funktion, die mit einer 64-MP-Telefoto-Linse arbeitet. Es ist eine bemerkenswerte Funktion, die “3x hybriden optischen Zoom” und “30x Super-Auflösung-Zoom” vereint, die Leistung soll die vorheriger Galaxy-Geräte weit übertreffen. Außerdem ist das Samsung Galaxy S20 das vermeintlich erste Smartphone, das 8K-Videos aufnehmen kann – Video-Ersteller wird das sicherlich begeistern. 

Der 6,2-Zoll-Bildschirm wurde mit visuell bemerkenswerter und fluider Technologie eingebaut, zusammen mit der Ansammlung an beeindruckenden Kameras. Die neu hinzugefügte Bildwiederholrate von 120 Hz wird die allgemeine Display-Leistung definitiv verbessern und im Vergleich mit 60 Hz für ein immersiveres Erlebnis sorgen. Allerdings muss für ein 120-Hz-Display die Auflösung auf Full-High-Definition gestellt sein, was nicht die Standardeinstellung ist. Benutzer müssen es demnach selber einstellen, um diese Funktion nutzen zu können. Der Grund für diese Einschränkung ist die Akkulaufzeit, der 4.000-mAh-Akku des Galaxy S20 wird zu sehr belastet, wenn 120 Hz der Standard ist. Ein weiterer Nachteil dieses Modells ist das Fehlen eines Kopfhöreranschlusses. Doch das S20 sollte trotzdem für seine einzigartigen Features gefeiert werden. Es ist in drei verschiedenen Farben erhältlich, nämlich Cloud Blue, Cloud Pink und Cosmic Gray.
