We had only one real issue with the slate - the S-Pen holder is far from convenient. A Book Cover is recommended, though Samsung has started selling its accessories at a rather premium price. Man kann nicht leugnen, dass man bei hochwertigen Tablets sofort an das Design des iPad Pro denkt. Doch auch das Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus hat einen großen Bildschirm, eine schmale Einfassung und flache Ränder, darüber hinaus ist es sogar dünner und leichter als das 12,9-Zoll-iPad. Mit 575 Gramm ist es relativ leicht, obwohl man es immer noch mit zwei Händen halten sollte. Zudem ist es mit 5,7 mm beeindruckend dünn. Das Tablet wirkt sehr hochwertig, das Gehäuse kann nicht verbogen werden, und die gebürsteten Metall-Ränder erinnern ein wenig an das Galaxy Note 4. Die Rückseite ist ein Magnet für Fingerabdrücke, Schmierflecken sind schon nach wenigen Tagen bemerkbar. Was die Farbe angeht, so kann man zwischen Mystic Silver und Mystic Bronze wählen. 

Das 12,4-Zoll-Super-AMOLED-Display hat eine Auflösung von 2800 x 1752 Pixel und eine Bildrate von 120 Hz, Inhalte werden also recht geschmeidig dargestellt. Einer der Unterschiede zwischen dem OLED-Bildschirm des Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus und IPS-Tablets, wie z.B. dem iPad Pro oder dem Huawei MatePad, ist, dass IPS-Bildschirme im Vergleich zu OLED-Bildschirmen schlicht matt aussehen. Das Galaxy Tab S7 Plus hat außerdem einen Fingerabdruck-Leser unter dem Bildschirm, der zwar mit den meisten Smartphones nicht mithalten kann, aber immer noch schnell genug ist.

Das S-Pen kann magnetisch auf der Rückseite des Tablets verstaut und kabellos geladen werden. Samsung hat die Latenz des S-Pen verbessert und Luft-Gesten hinzugefügt, die man schon vom Galaxy Note 20 kennt. Zudem gibt es eine Buch-Hülle und eine Buch-Hülle-Tastatur, die separat verkauft werden. Die Buch-Hülle dient auch als Ständer, was für Filmabende nützlich ist. Im Inneren dieses Tablets steckt ein Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus mit entweder 6 GB oder 8 GB Arbeitsspeicher. Der Prozessor erzeugt ein sehr flottes Tablet-Erlebnis, Apps werden schnell geöffnet, und man kann problemlos zwischen ihnen wechseln. Beim Speicherplatz hat man zwischen 128 GB oder 256 GB die Wahl. Alles in allem ist das ein tolles Tablet, sofern es den Wünschen und Vorlieben des Benutzers entspricht.

Qualcomm Adreno 650: Grafikchip für Smartphones und Tablets, integriert im Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. Laut Qualcomm um 25% schneller als die alte Adreno 640 im Snapdragon 855.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

SD 865+ (Plus): High-End SoC (System on a Chip) für Smartphones welcher Ende 2019 vorgestellt wurde. Integriert unter anderen einen schnellen "Prime Core" mit bis zu 2,84 GHz und drei weitere schnelle Cortex-A77 basierende Performance-Kerne. Zum Stromsparen wurden außerdem 4 weitere ARM Cortex-A55 Kerne verbaut. Integriert kein eigens Modem, sonder ist gedacht um mit dem Snapdragon X55 5G Modem zusammenzuarbeiten.
