Great performance, decent battery life, good keyboard and trackpad, and a massive screen – just that the screen quality itself is kinda subpar. If you’re okay with the screen, then I think this is an okay laptop. However, I’d like to see a price drop.

EN→DEAt RM2,999 – the ASUS Vivobook 16X certainly does not ask a lot of money for good amounts of CPU performance, but some corners are cut so you should not ask too much out of it. I’d say the best use case would fall under office work – those who do mostly typing and data entry that needs a bigger screen will benefit a lot from this machine with a relatively low price point. If you need a better content watching experience though, go for the Vivobook 15X OLED instead.

EN→DEWhen you want a laptop that has the performance of a big gaming machine, you need to make sacrifices. Especially if you want it to be affordable. Well, this is exactly the case with the Vivobook 16X (M1603). Its IPS panel has a WUXGA resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, comfortable viewing angles, and a good contrast ratio. Its backlight doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment, but on the other hand, the color coverage is only 50% of the sRGB color gamut. Although the laptop is made out of plastic, it has one strong feature when it comes to the body – its coating. ASUS has covered all body panels with an antimicrobial layer, which attracts all microbes and then kills them off. Quite sadistic, but also beneficial. In addition to that, the port selection is robbed of an SD card reader, while the USB Type-C port can only be used for data transfers. Also, some of the memory (8GB to be precise) has been soldered to the motherboard. Further expansions are possible via the single SODIMM slot. In terms of battery, you get between 8 and 10 hours on a single charge, depending on your activities – watching videos, or browsing the Web. Using more demanding software, however, will drain it significantly more quickly, due to the power-hungry processor. Speaking of which, it is really powerful. Even though it is a couple of generations old, one can still reap the benefits of AMD’s bold design back in the day. So, if you are looking for a machine that is capable of delivering all you need, at a low price, and still allows you to play light games – get the Vivobook 16X (M1603). Don’t miss to check out the OLED version of this device.

EN→DEHey, 16-inch laptops are now affordable. And they don’t suck! The Vivobook 16 (X1605) is a pretty decent machine with only a few minor flaws that can’t be ignored, but at the same time won’t be dealbreakers for the majority of you. This includes the lack of an SD card reader and the fact that the only USB Type-C port can only be used for data transfer. On the bright side, the situation on the inside looks a bit better with one SODIMM slot for memory expansion and one M.2 PCIe x4 slot for Gen 3 or Gen 4 SSDs. The battery life is great if you’re browsing the Web – 10 hours and 30 minutes, but it is not fantastic if you are watching videos – 5 hours and 30 minutes. Unfortunately, we are not aware what is the reason for the huge difference. Not in last place, its Antibacterial Guard limits the growth and build-up of bacteria on the plastic surface of the notebook. This feature is tested against the ISO 22196 standard, according to ASUS. Now, if you are willing to get a laptop at this price point, you might need to settle for plastic as a building material.

It's roughly $350 more, and you get the same great display with better build quality, faster processing and a discrete GPU for beginner content creation. For $300 more, the Acer Swift Edge offers a 16-inch, 16:10 OLED display inside a slim yet rigid magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis. It also regularly goes on sale at Costco for less than $1,000. Or if you don't mind a smaller display, consider the HP Pavilion Plus 14, which comes in many configurations at more affordable prices.

At its absolute limit, when converting a large video file, it lasted just over an hour. An extreme power-saving mode can stretch battery life to a full working day, but it becomes difficult to work when performance is much more limited. Keep the charger handy at all times.

However, that display isn’t especially vibrant or accurate, which robs the laptop of some of its multimedia potential. What’s more, a puny battery, just the one USB-C port, and a rather cheap-feeling finish saps a fair amount of that initial full-sized laptop pizazz. Heavy discounting means that anyone specifically in the market for the largest laptop screen possible at the lowest price possible will definitely want to include the Vivobook 16 in their calculations. For the vast majority of people, however, you can get a better-balanced laptop package elsewhere.

It won’t buckle under the virtual weight of too much admin work. This laptop does start at £600 for the Intel Core i5 version, and it might be a worthy compromise for those looking for straightforward productivity use. With lacklustre speakers and a hinge that stops short of helping it become a good entertainment companion, however, there are just a few too many compromises here to truly recommend it at this price point. The 16GB RAM is this model’s biggest strength in terms of raw power but competing devices are hard to ignore with the HP Pavilion SE 14 providing a more modern processor for less money as well as a better speaker system.

When you add the 1200p display in the mix, this results in more than 16 hours of Web browsing on a single charge. Not bad for a 42Wh battery! Of course, if you get a laptop with a Zen 4 processor and a 3.2K OLED display, perhaps the battery life could be shorter. This machine is offered with a plethora of processor options. This allows you to pick the right chip for your needs. For casual office or home usage, even the 6-core Ryzen 5 5625U should be fine, if you aren’t too pretentious. It’s not a bad idea to choose a machine with dual-channel memory that will boost the overall performance. On the other side, this notebook can be transformed into a productivity beast with an 8-core Zen 4 CPU like the Ryzen 9 7940HS.

However, if you look back at ASUS’s other older laptops – like the ASUS Vivobook M1503, then you’ll get a much better OLED screen at around the same price, and you get a much more powerful CPU too – but less RAM and a slightly smaller screen.

EN→DEThe ASUS Vivobook 16X OLED (K3604) has a lot of potential to be a true blockbuster in its class but the device isn’t perfect. Let’s start with the positives – the 16:10 4K (3840 x 2400p) OLED display (Samsung AMOLED ATNA60YV02-0 (SDC415D) is just great. It boasts 100% sRGB and DCI-P3 coverage alongside good out-of-the-box color accuracy. The HDR panel amazes with quick pixel response times and infinite contrast ratio. The display flicker here isn’t an issue since there is a ”Flicker-Free Dimming” function in the MyASUS software. The overall performance of the laptop is good. The machine feels snappy – our laptop is configured with the Core i7-1360P which is the top CPU option for the series. This chip is a serious challenge for the basic-looking cooling solution. Interestingly, the CPU can maintain decently high frequencies in prolonged periods of 100% stress while the clocks in short loads are so-so.

Über das Gaming hinaus werden eine breite Palette von Notebooks für unterschiedliche Anforderungen und Budgets geboten: von ultraschlanken und leichten Ultrabooks bis hin zu vielseitigen 2-in-1-Convertibles und budgetfreundlichen Optionen. 2023 hatte Asus einen Weltmarktanteil von 7% am PC-Markts.
Die Kundenzufriedenheit mit ASUS-Notebooks betrifft Leistung, die Funktionen und das gute Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis der ASUS-Notebooks. Wie bei jeder Marke gibt es jedoch gelegentlich Berichte über Probleme wie Überhitzung, Treiberkompatibilität oder Probleme mit der Verarbeitungsqualität.
Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

Diese Grafikkarten sollten alle modernen Spiele flüssig darstellen können. Anspruchsvolle Spiele müssen jedoch in mittlerer Detailstufe gespielt werden. Ältere und weniger anspruchsvolle Spiele wie die Sims Serie können auch in hohen Detailsstufen flüssig dargestellt werden.
NVIDIA NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU: Mittelklasse-Notebookgrafikkarte basierend auf die Ada Lovelace Architektur. Bietet 6 GB GDDR6 VRAM und ca 35-115W TGP (+ Dynamic Boost). Vorstellung sollte im Januar 2023 erfolgen, Verkaufsstart dann im Februar.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 4GB Laptop GPU: Mobile Gaming-Grafikkarte die wahrscheinlich auf den GA107 Chip basiert. Bietet 2048 GPU Kerne und ist in verschiedenen TGP Varianten von 35 - 80 Watt erhältlich. Je nach Variante kann die Leistung deutlich variieren, da auch die Taktraten unterschiedlich ausfallen. Ältere Version mit 4 GB VRAM.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 Mobile: Mid-Range Notebook-Grafikkarte mit 4 GDDR6-Grafikspeicher (nur 64 Bit). Verfügt über 2.048 Shadereinheiten und ist in Varianten von 30 - 45 Watt (TGP) mit unterschiedlicher Performance erhältlich. Unterstützt Raytracing und DLSS.
High-End Grafikkarten welche auch neueste und anspruchsvolle 3D-Spiele in hohen Auflösungen und Detailstufen flüssig wiedergeben können. Durch den hohen Stromverbrauch, werden diese GPUs nur in großen und schweren Notebooks mit geringen Akkulaufzeiten angeboten.

16.00: Dieser Bereich für Displayformate war und ist eine Seltenheit. Es ist größer als der allgemeine Standard von 15 Zoll, aber noch nicht im Bereich der großen Workstations. Man hat üblicherweise höhere Bildschirmauflösungen zur Verfügung, darunter leidet aber auch die Portabilität.
