Der Dimensity 720 ist ein Mittelklasse-Prozessor mit integriertem 5G Modem. Der CPU-Teil integriert vier schnelle ARM Cortex-A76 Kerne mit bis zu 2 GHz und vier Stromsparkerne vom Typ Cortex-A55 mit ebenfalls bis zu 2 GHz. Der SoC integriert weiters noch eine 3 Kern ARM Mali-G57 MC5 Grafikkarte, ein Wi-Fi 5 Modem, einen LPDDR4x Speicherkontroller, eine AI Processing Unit und Video En- und Decoding (H.265, H.264, VP-9). Der Chip wird im modernen 7nm Verfahren gefertigt. Im Vergleich zum schnelleren Dimensity 820 ist die CPU langsamer getaktet und die GPU bietet weniger Kerne.

Der MediaTek Dimensity 700 ist ein ARM-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für Smartphones der unteren Mittelklasse. Er bringt ein 5G-Modem mit und unterstützt den aktuellsten Mobilfunkstandard im Dual-SIM-Modus bei beiden Karten.

Das SoC integriert zwei ARM Cortex-A76 Kerne mit bis zu 2,2 GHz für anspruchsvolle Aufgaben und sechs langsamere ARM Cortex-A55 Kerne mit bis zu 2 GHz Takt in einem Stromspar-Cluster.

Der Hersteller gibt die maximale Downloadrate für das 5G-Modem mit 2,77 GBit/s an, allerdings werden nur sub-6-GHz-Netze unterstützt. Wi-Fi 5 (a/b/g/n/ac) wird unterstützt. Der Speichercontroller unterstützt LPDDR4x-RAM mit bis zu 2133 MHz und maximal 12 GB.

Beim Massenspeicher kann maximal UFS-2.2-Memory zum Einsatz kommen.
Als integrierte Grafikkarte verwendet das SoC die ARM Mali-G57 MC2. 90-Hz-Displays mit einer maximalen Auflösung von 1.080p+ werden unterstützt.

Der MediaTek Dimensity 700 wird im 7-nm-Prozess hergestellt.
