To top it off, the battery life and speakers are equally subpar. If you're set on getting a Nitro 5, you might as well pick up the newest model, which starts at $729 and sports a 9th Gen Core i5 CPU and a GTX 1050 GPU. Even the Intel version of this model offers stronger performance and better battery life for $789 on NewEgg. Overall, the Nitro 5 fails to hit the mark, even for a budget gaming laptop.

Acer has done just this with their Nitro 5 laptop, which in the case of the model we're looking at today, pairs up a Ryzen APU with a Radeon RX 560X GPU in order to produce a thrifty, entry-level gaming laptop.

AMD Radeon RX 560X (Laptop): Umbenannte Radeon RX 560 und daher ebenfalls auf Polaris 11/21 basierende Grafikkarte für Notebooks. Bietet 1024 Shader und eine Taktrate von meistens 1175 - 1275 MHz.
Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
