Das ROG Phone 5s ist ein starkes Technik-Paket mit typischer Gaming-Optik, wie man es von anderen "Republic of Gamers"-Produkten kennt – die Leistungs-Unterschiede zwischen Pro und normaler Version sind gering. Die gute Nachricht: Auch ohne Zusatzlüfter bleibt die Leistung über längere Zeit noch stabil. Dazu gibt es ausgefeilte Möglichkeiten zur Gaming-Steuerung, die allerdings einiges an Einarbeitung verlangen. Alternative: Wer am Smartphone nicht dauerhaft spielt, ist auch mit einem großen Spitzen-Android wie dem OnePlus 9 Pro gut bedient.

EN→DEIt’s weird that ASUS released the ROG Phone 5s Pro just 8 months after it released the ROG Phone 5 Pro. And the difference is not that significant. Just a higher-clocked chipset and bigger RAM. If you own the ROG Phone 5 Pro, I don’t think you’ll notice the difference in performance. If they offer the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate at a lower price, I think I might get that one instead. Those coming from the ROG Phone 3 or buying a gaming smartphone for the first time will probably benefit from this option. All in all, the ROG Phone 5s Pro is a great gaming phone for 2021. It’s a weird release, but great nonetheless.

Das Asus ROG Phone 5s Pro ist ein High-End-Smartphone, das mit einem übertakteten Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus-Prozessor ausgestattet ist und Spielern eine noch bessere Leistung bietet. Das ROG Phone 5s Pro ist in der Farbe Phantom Black erhältlich. Die äußere Verpackung ist ähnlich wie bei der vorherigen Generation, die gleiche wie die sechseckige Zylinderverpackung. Zum Lieferumfang gehören Handy, Handyhülle, Lüfter, 65-W-Ladegerät, Type-C-Ladekabel, Aufkleber, Kartenauswurfstift und Handbuch. Die Display-Spezifikationen des ROG Phone 5s Pro unterscheiden sich nicht wesentlich von denen der vorherigen Generation. Sie alle verwenden einen 6,78 Zoll großen E4-AMOLED-Bildschirm, der eine maximale Bildschirmaktualisierungsrate von 144 Hz unterstützt. Der Benutzer kann die Aktualisierungsrate des Bildschirms in den Einstellungen manuell auf 60 Hz, 120 Hz, 144 Hz oder automatisch einstellen. Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
