Mit dem Lenovo Yoga 3 14 orange (80JH0010GE) hat es wieder einmal ein Convertible im Test in die Top 5 der Bestenliste geschafft. Es zeigt gute Rechenleistung, angenehme ergonomische Eigenschaften und ein qualitativ überdurchschnittliches 14-Zoll-Display. Etwas mehr Speicherplatz hätte allerdings nicht geschadet.

Lenovo’s Yoga 3 14 stacks up well to the Acer Aspire R13 and HP Spectre x360 both in terms of performance and price. There is a lot to love about this machine when you consider the above average build quality, respectable benchmarks, intuitive keyboard and touchpad layout, and a convertible form factor. The Yoga 3 14 is an excellent choice for road warriors or students seeking a lightweight notebook with a mid-sized screen and robust battery life. The Yoga’s unique hinge only adds to the versatility and enjoyment.

The Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro's design, with its watchband-like single hinge constructed of more than 800 individual pieces of steel and aluminum and fanless chassis measuring a mere 12.8mm thick, is strikingly different from its predecessors. It might not have the style of the Yoga 3 Pro, but the Lenovo Yoga 3 14 more than makes up for it in battery life, system performance and price.

Call me superficial, but I was rooting for this laptop the second I took it out of the box. It's so pretty and versatile that I wanted everything to go right, so that I could rush and tell my family and friends to order it. Unfortunately, beneath the hood, this device performs on par with similarly priced hybrids that weigh a lot less. If you're like me and love the Yoga 3 14's design, you're probably better off spending a little bit more money on the lighter and slightly less powerful Yoga 3 Pro.

The Lenovo Yoga 3 14 shows improvements over the 13-inch Lenovo Yoga 2 13, like a larger screen, while retaining a thin profile and its 360-degree Yoga hinge. It's a well-equipped laptop whose convertible form factor offers greater flexibility in terms of how you can use it, and it has the best battery life in its category. For now, however, the best convertible-hybrid laptop does not necessarily come from the company that pioneered the 360-degree hinge.

In price, performance, and design, the Yoga 3 is unfortunately outclassed on nearly every front. The loud fans, dim display, and awkward ergonomics make the Yoga 3 feel like a relic of the past compared to the slick designs of the R13 and T300 Chi. It just doesn’t feel very mobile. The 14” display, heavy weight, and wobbly hinge make the Yoga 3 feel more like a last-gen laptop than a truly versatile convertible device.

Featuring a solid set of components (i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD), a sturdy hinge and a fairly strong 8 hours of battery life, the Yoga 3 14 is a fine 2-in-1. However, the HP Spectre x360 does almost everything just a bit better (screen brightness, performance and battery life) for just $50 more, and it's prettier, too. The Yoga 3 14 is a good 2-in-1 for the money, but it's not our top choice.

If you're familiar with Lenovo's laptops, particularly with its new Yoga machines, then you'll find the Yoga 3 14 feels like something you've seen before, but with its own little tweaks that make it unique. In this case, it's the brushed metal surface surrounding the keyboard that gives it a unique flavor, and it is beautiful to behold. That aside, the PC is akin to many of the other laptops we've reviewed from Lenovo in past months, and that's not a bad thing for those who like the brand.

Serie:

Thinkpad Yoga ist eine Ultrabook-Serie hergestellt von Lenovo. Die Yoga Serie wurde 2012 auf den Markt gebracht, ihr Nachfolger, ThinkPad Yoga 2, wurde im vierten Quartal 2014 herausgegeben. Yoga Laptops wurden so leicht, dünn und portable wie möglich gestaltet und richten sich an junge, technisch versierte Consumer. Thinkpad Yogas heben sich durch ihr einzigartiges Feature, sich durch 360-Grad-Drehung des Bildschirms in ein Tablet zu verwandeln, von der Konkurrenz ab.

Die Yoga Serie wurde Ende 2012 mit dem 11-Zoll Yoga 11 und dem 13-Zoll Yoga 13 gestartet. Die zweite Generation, genannt Yoga 2 Pro wurde Ende 2013 herausgebracht: ein 13,3-Zoll großes Modell, deutlich leichter als das Yoga 13. Das jüngste Modell ist das Yoga 3 Pro von Ende 2014. Es ist noch dünner und leichter als alle seine Vorgänger bei gleicher 13,3-Zoll Größe. Der leistungsstärkere Prozessor verringert allerdings die Akkulaufzeit ein bisschen auf unter 6 Stunden. Neben den Ultrabooks gibt es auch IdeaPad Yoga Tablets, die auch in 8-Zoll und 10-Zoll verfügbar sind.

Intel HD Graphics 5500: Integrierte Grafikkarte (GT2), welche in einigen Broadwell-ULV-CPUs (15 Watt TDP) verbaut wird.

Einige nicht anspruchsvolle aktuelle Spiele können mit geringen Details noch flüssig gespielt werden. Für Office und Video natürlich ausreichende Leistungsreserven.
