However, if you regard it as a touch-screen Ultrabook with a cool twist, it certainly succeeds. It’s generally well-built, looks stylish and feels great, and its flexible hinge gives you lots of different usage scenarios. While no match for the ThinkPad range, its keyboard is pleasant enough to type on and its touchpad is lovely, while that 1,600 x 900 IPS screen supports 10-finger touch. It also has plenty of power under the hood, and backs this with decent battery life. If a more affordable Core i3/i5 version becomes available in the UK, it’ll be a steal.

While it's not the perfect laptop, the range of movement and use offered by the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga won us over. The more we embraced its range of movements the more the real-life benefits of a touchscreen display became apparent. If you're looking for a great Windows 8 laptop that offers something extra, the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga is well worth the cash.

The Yoga 11s is easier to handle than the Yoga 13 but 30% of the weight needs to be lost if it’s going to compete in the consumer tablet space. It works as an armchair tablet though where you might find yourself flipping back-and-forth to laptop mode which can often be easier for typing. One mode which works really well is an easel mode. When we tried this on the Yoga 13 the system registered the device as ‘in laptop mode’ which meant the touch keyboard didn’t appear. On the Yoga 11S that’s not the case. Watch TV and keep the Windows 8 Wikipedia app up and ready for action. Split-screen with Twitter perhaps? The Yoga 11s is a fantastic TV-buddy.

Das Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro ist ein würdiger Nachfolger des Lenovo Yoga 13. Es bietet ein enorm gutes Display, eine längere Akkulaufzeit und ein dünneres, kompakteres Gehäuse. Was man sich vielleicht für die Zukunft wünschen würde ist, dass das Display noch weiter an den Rand verbaut und der Platz noch besser genutzt wird.

Durch eine fehlende diskrete Grafikkarte dauert hier mancher Arbeitsschritt länger. Die Verarbeitung und die Haptik des Asus Zenbook gefallen uns gut. Der Aufklappwinkel könnte etwas größer sein, stellt aber noch zufrieden. Schade finden wir, dass das Display stark spiegelt. Trotz guter Helligkeit leidet die Lesbarkeit bei Sonneneinstrahlung deutlich.
