Polycarbonat ist nachvollziehbar – weniger schick als Glas, dafür aber bruchfester.

Dieses kann ohne Probleme in fast allen Belangen die typischen Mittelklasse Geräte wie das Nokia 7 Plus oder BQ Aquaris X2 überbieten. Ich würde sogar fast sagen das Pocophone F1 ist näher an der Oberklasse als an der Mittelklasse, wo dieses preislich eigentlich positioniert ist.

For mobile photography enthusiasts after a bargain, the rear camera puts in a respectable performance, with decent still-image results for exposure, color, and noise in most conditions. It’s some ways behind the very best high-end devices we’ve tested for image quality, though, the current crop of dual or triple-cam flagship devices are a cut above—particularly for HDR processing, low light exposure and detail, as well as for zoom and bokeh shots. This said, the F1’s autofocus and flash systems are excellent, and its video performance is very acceptable both indoors and outdoors. So all things considered, the Pocophone F1 is an attractive proposition for the price.

Modell: Das neue Jungunternehmen, welches vom chinesischen Technikriesen Xiaomi unterstützt wird, will mit seinem ersten Gerät namens Pocophone F1 – dem neuen “Master of Speed” – die Dinge auf den Kopf stellen. Im Wesentlichen stellen Pocophone und das F1 für Xiaomi einen neuen Weg dar, neue Kunden in anderen Märkten zu erreichen. Das Pocophone F1 sieht eher generisch aus. Wegen seiner Rückseite aus Polykarbonat wirkt es weniger hochwertig. Das soll nicht heißen es wäre langweilig oder schwach, denn davon ist es weit entfernt. Die Oberfläche der dunkelgrauen Version (Graphite Black) imitiert Metall ziemlich gut, doch das F1 wirkt eindeutig weniger hochwertig als das OnePlus 6 oder das Honor 10. Dafür sollte die Rückseite besser damit zurechtkommen, wenn das Phone hinunter fällt, wenngleich sich Kratzer und Gebrauchsspuren schneller zeigen als bei Glas. Das Polykarbonat-Modell ist in Graphite Black, Steel Blue und Rosso Red erhältlich. Das Pocophone F1 nutzt einen 5,99 Zoll großen IPS-LCD-Bildschirm mit einer Auflösung von 1.080 x 2.246 Pixeln (18:9). Mit 416 DPI ist die Pixeldichte hoch genug, dass es unmöglich ist, einzelne Pixel zu erkennen. Die Farben sind schön und kräftig, doch die OLED-Technologie hätte für einen besseren Kontrast und bessere Blickwinkel gesorgt. Ein kleines, erwähnenswertes Problem ist die Lesbarkeit im Freien. Bei maximaler Helligkeit kann Text etwas verschwommen wirken. Die primäre 12-MP-Kamera mit seiner f/1.9-Blende und 1.4µm Pixelgröße sowie die ziemlich große 20-MP-Frontkamera wurden beide direkt von Xiaomis Flagship-Phone des Jahres 2018, dem Xiaomi Mi 8, übernommen. Das ist ein weiterer Vorteil von Pocophones Verbindung mit Xioamis Vertrieb. Sie sorgt für eine beeindruckende Kamera-Qualität – nicht nur in Anbetracht des Preises sondern auch für die Kategorie des Phones. Usern stehen ein durch künstliche Intelligenz verbesserter Auto-Modus, manuelle Einstellungen, automatische HDR-Aufnahmen, Echtzeit-Foto-Filter sowie Beauty-Modus, QR-Code-Scanning, ein Portrait-Modus und mehr zur Verfügung.

Das Pocophone F1 ist in drei RAM-/Massenspeicher-Kombinationen erhältlich, nämlich 6 GB/64 GB, 8 GB/128 GB und 8 GB/256 GB. Alle drei Versionen nutzen einen Snapdragon 845 Prozessor (10 nm Octa-Core mit Adreno 630 GPU). Damit die CPU ohne Überhitzen arbeitet, hat sich Xiaomi für ein Liquid-Cooling-System entschieden. Dabei wird die Abwärme – ähnlich wie bei einer Klimaanlage – vom Prozessor zu anderen Teilen des Phones geleitet. Auch der Akku ist ausgezeichnet. Mit 4.000 mAh sollte er, abhängig von der Last, einen ganzen Tag, möglicherweise zwei Tage durchhalten. Das Pocophone F1 verfügt über einen einzigen Lautsprecher. Dieser befindet sich an der Unterseite (nur unter einer der beiden Abdeckungen befindet sich ein Lautsprecher). Er wird ziemlich laut, neigt bei hohen Lautstärken jedoch zum Surren. Zu guter Letzt hat Xiaomi für dieses Gerät ein neue, spezielle Software namens MIUI for POCO entwickelt. Dank dieser Spezialentwicklung arbeitet die Benutzeroberfläche unerwartet flüssig und übertrifft Konkurrenten wie das Oneplus 6 oder Samsung Galaxy S9. Insgesamt richtet sich dieses Smartphone an User, denen Leistung, Akkulaufzeit und Qualität wichtiger sind als das Aussehen herkömmlicher Flagship-Phones. Mit seiner Spezifikation kommt es mit leichten bis anspruchsvollen Aufgaben spielend zurecht. Zudem kann es schöne Fotos aufnehmen und bietet eine ausgezeichnete Akkulaufzeit.
