Modell: Von Zeit zu Zeit testen wir preisgünstige Smartphones. Wir bezeichnen ein Smartphone mit einem Preis von zirka 100 US-Dollar oder mehr als günstig. Diesmal ist er noch niedriger. Wir stellen das Xiaomi Redmi 5A vor. Wie das Xiaomi Redmi 4A des vorigen Jahres, startet das 5A Modell von 91 US-Dollar – ja 91 US-Dollar. Nun ja, das ist nicht der offizielle Preis, dass das kostet es in China. Doch auch plus aller Importkosten, wird sein Preis meiner Meinung nach 150 US-Dollar nicht überschreiten.
Was bekommen Sie also für diesen Betrag? Einen Snapdragon 425 SoC, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM, einen MicroSD-Slot zur Erweiterung des Speichers, einen 5-Zoll-Bildschirm mit einer 1,280 x 720 Pixel Auflösung. Das ist keinesfalls schlecht. Zudem gibt es eine 13-MP-Kamera an der Rückseite und eine 5-MP-Front-Kamera. Ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass die Frontkamera gar nicht praktisch sein wird, doch ich denke, dass die Kamera an der Rückseite einiges bieten kann. Bei billigen Phones weiß ich nicht, was mich erwartet und ich frage mich, ob ich dankbar sollte, wenn diese überhaupt funktionieren. Lassen Sie uns ehrlich sein, es gibt nicht viele billige Phone. Ja, es gibt viele Noname-Phones, doch wie viele von ihnen sind wirklich brauchbar? Doch Xiaomi macht sich mit seinen Produkten einen Namen und seine Beliebtheit außerhalb Chinas wächst jeden Tag. Verglichen mit dem 4A Modell verfügt das 5A über einen metallischen Unibody. Für ein Einstiegsgerät ist es ziemlich schön. Doch dennoch wirkt es so, als ob man etwas Billiges in der Hand halten würde. Wollen Sie etwas mehr ausgeben, so gibt es die Prime-Variante, die beispielsweise in puncto Kamera, Prozessor und Fingerabdruckleser etwas besser ausgestattet ist. Dieses Gerät könnte ein strategischer Zug sein, mehr User davon zu überzeugen, die Prime-Variante zu kaufen, denn diese kostet nur etwas mehr und macht in puncto Preis-Leistungsverhältnis mehr Sinn. Zudem gibt es keinen Grund vom 4A umzusteigen, denn diese beiden Phones sind im Wesentlichen gleich.
Wiederum ist die wichtigste Frage, die ich mir stellen muss, ob ich es jemals kaufen würde. Ich habe die selbe Frage für das LeEco Le Pro3 Elite gestellt und dieses war in puncto Hardware wesentlich besser. Das 5A kostet beinahe halb so viel und ich bin mir nicht ganz sicher wie ich mich entscheiden würde. Ich glaube, ich würde eines kaufen und es als Ersatzgerät aufbewahren, falls meinem Hauptphone etwas passieren würde. Oder ich würde das Redmi 5A verwenden, wenn ich ins Ausland reise und ich befürchten muss, dass es mir gestohlen wird. Ich bin ein Power-User und ich denke, dass ich mit diesem Smartphone auf Leistungsprobleme stoßen werde. Trotzdem denke ich, dass ich es für meine Familie kaufen kann. Da es billig ist, würde es mir nichts ausmachen, wenn es hinunterfällt und kaputt geht, denn ich kann ein neues kaufen. Doch ein Kaufentscheidung hängt von Ihrer geplanten Verwendung ab. Brauche Sie ein Phone zum Anrufen, etwas SMS schreiben und vielleicht etwas Internet-Verwendung, brauchen Sie nichts Teures und das Redmi 5A ist für Sie gerade recht. Wollen Sie jedoch Spiele spielen, gute Kameras und so weiter, kann es bessere Angebote geben. Bedenken Sie, dass alle anderen Geräte teurer als dieses Modell sind. Es könnte so billig sein, wie es für ein Smartphone möglich ist.

Eine Kaufempfehlung kann man nur mit viel Wohlwollen darin sehen, es sei denn es handelt sich um Websites, die generell streng urteilen.
