Der Intel Core i7-1280P ist eine High-End-CPU auf Basis der neuen Alder-Lake-Architektur, die im Januar 2022 vorgestellt wurde. der 1280P ist der schnellste Prozessor der P-Serie mit 28 Watt und sehr ähnlich zur 45W i7-12800H .
Die CPU basiert auf den Alder Lake-P Chip (für H und P-Serie) und bietet alle 6 Performance Kerne (P-Kerne, Golden Cove Architektur) und 8 Effizienzkerne (E-Kerne, Gracemont Architektur). Die P-Kerne unterstützten Hyperthreading (daher gemeinsam 20 Threads) und takten von 2,4 bis 4,8 GHz. Die E-Kerne takten von 1,8 - 3,7 GHz und sollen eine vergleichbare Performance wie alte Skylake Kerne bieten (z.B. i7-6920HQ ). Wie auch der Core i7-12800H bietet der i7-1280P ebenfalls das volle "Enterprise"-Set von vPro .
Performance
Durch die 14 Kerne sollte die Multithread-Leistung deutlich oberhalb der alten Tiger-Lake-H35-4-Kerner (z.B. i7-11375H ) liegen und bei kurzer Last auch mit dem 45W Core i7-12800H mithalten können. Bei längerer Last sollte jedoch das TDP-Limit und wahrscheinlich auch schwächere Kühlsysteme die Leistung deutlich limitieren.
Grafikeinheit
Wie auch der Vorgänger, integriert Intel in Alder Lake eine Intel Xe basierende Grafikeinheit. Beim 12800H sind alle 96 EUs aktiviert und takten mit bis zu 1,4 GHz.
Features
Wie auch Tiger Lake, hat auch Alder-Lake-P WiFi 6E und Thunderbolt 4 (4x) teilintegriert. Der integrierte Speicherkontroller unterstützt DDR5-4800, DDR4-3200, LPDDR5-5200 und LPDDR4x-4267. Der integrierte Gaussian and Neural Accelerator (GNA) ist nun in Version 3.0 verbaut. Die Media Engine Quick Sync 8 ist die selbe wie in Rocket Lake und unterstützt MPEG-2, AVC, VC-1 Decode, JPEG, VP8 Decode, VP9, HEVC und AV1 Decode. Der Chip unterstützt nur PCIe 4.0 (x8 for GPU und zwei x4 für SSDs).
Leistungsaufnahme
Der Intel Core i7-1280P ist mit 28 Watt TDP und 64 Watt (PL2) max. Turbo Power angegeben. Gefertigt wird der 1280P im modernen Intel 7 Prozess (10 nm).
AMD Ryzen 5 6600H ► remove from comparison
Der AMD Ryzen 5 6600H ist ein Mobilprozessor für große Notebooks (z.B. Gaming Laptops) basierend auf die Rembrandt Generation. Der SoC beinhaltet sechs Zen 3+ Kerne (Hexa-Core CPU) welche mit 3,3 GHz (garantierter Basistakt) bis zu 4,5 GHz getaktet werden (Turbo) und SMT / Hyperthreading (12 Threads) unterstützen. Der Chip wird im modernen 6nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und wurde Anfang 2022 vorgestellt.
Die neuen Rembrandt APUs bieten einige Neuerungen, wie Support für USB4 mit 40 Gbps, PCI-E Gen 4, DDR5-4800MT/s bzw LPDDR5-6400MT/s, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth LE 5.2, DisplayPort 2 und AV1 Decode in Hardware.
Die CPU Leistung ist pro Takt vergleichbar mit den alten Ryzen 5000 APUs, dank des neuen 6nm Prozess sind die CPUs aber höher getaktet und dadurch etwas schneller. Der 6600H sollte daher etwas schneller als der alte Ryzen 5 5600H sein (6 Kerne, max 4,2 GHz). Die neuen Alder Lake H-Serie CPUs sollten jedoch eine höhere Leistung bieten (z.b. i5-12600H ).
Der Ryzen 5 6600H integriert nur die kleine Radeon 660M mit 6 der 12 CUs und 1,9 GHz Takt.
Der TDP ist weiterhin mit 45 Watt spezifiziert (die schnelleren X-Modelle dürfen laut AMD auch mehr Strom ziehen).

Der Chip wird im modernen 6nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und wurde im April 2022 vorgestellt. Im Vergleich zum Consumer R7 6800H , bietet der 6850HS zusätzliche Management und Security Features wie den Microsoft Pluton Security Prozessor.
