Alienware 15
Alienware ist eine gut etablierte Gaming-Laptop-Marke mit weltweit vielen Unterstützern. Sie haben nun das Alienware 15 herausgebracht, welches ungezügelte Rechenleistung verspricht. Es verfügt über einen 15.6 Zoll großen Active Matrix TFT Color LCD mit einer Auflösung von 1600 x 900 Pixeln. Der Bildschirm kann auch auf Ultra-HD aufgerüstet werden. Zudem können User zwischen einem entspiegelten IPS Bildschirm mit FullHD Auflösung und einem TrueLife-Touchscreen wählen. Der schwarze, solide Körper ist fast 5.08 cm dick und wiegt ungefähr 4 kg, weil er aus Kupfer, Aluminium und Kohlefaser gefertigt ist. Die Abmessungen sind tatsächlich dünner als frühere Alienware-Modelle. Beim leistungsstarken Prozessor in diesem Gerät handelt es sich um einen Intel Quad Core i7-720QM mit einer Taktrate von bis zu 1,6 GHz. Dieser wurde mit einer Nvidia GTX 970m Grafikkarte kombiniert. Das Alienware 15 R3-10881SLV ist ein Gaming-Laptop, mit einem ausgewogenen Verhältnis an Leistung und Portabilität. Es wird durch einen Intel Core i7 Prozessor der sechsten Generation in Kombination mit 16 GB RAM und einer Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 GPU mit 8 GB GDDR5 VRAM angetrieben. Die GeForce GPUs der GTX-10-Serie liefern bis zu dreimal so viel Leistung wie die GPUs der Vorgängergeneration. Dells ultimative Gaming-Maschine ist zurück mit einer aufpolierten Version der Alienware 15 Serie. Es sieht auf den ersten Blick immer noch dominierend in seinem größtenteils silber-schwarzen Gehäuse aus, doch wurde die Form etwas adaptiert und wirkt nun schlanker und moderner. Hinsichtlich der Verarbeitung wird dennoch bald ersichtlich, dass Dell bei der Qualität keine Kompromisse eingeht, da das Modell immer noch firm und robust ist, was ganz typisch für eine Alienware Gaming-Maschine ist. Die Abmessungen belaufen sich auf 389 x 305 x 25,4 mm und das Gewicht beträgt 3,49 kg. Das Gehäuse umgibt eine mehrfarbige Tastatur mit Hintergrundlicht in verschiedenen Stufen, was umfassende AlienFX Kontrolle generiert. Damit wird Gaming zu einer spannenden Erfahrung, da die Tastatur auf die individuellen Präferenzen des Users angepasst werden kann. Des Weiteren sind sowohl das Touchpad als auch die Tastatur berührungsempfindlich und gleichzeitig reaktionsschnell und entsprechen auf jeden Fall den Ansprüchen an eine Gaming-Maschine. Der 15,6-Zoll-IPS-Display mit Anti-Glare-Finish löst mit 1.920 x 1.080 Pixeln in 16:9 auf (141 PPI) und kann unglaubliche Bilder darstellen, was natürlich gerade für Gamer ein unverzichtbares Muss ist. Die gelieferten Bilder sind unglaublich scharf und knackig. Das Alienware 15 R3-3831SLV wird von einem Intel Core i7-6700HQ Prozessor angetrieben und die leistungsstarke CPU gepaart mit dem beeindruckenden NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Graphikadapter nebst 16 GB DDR4 RAM sorgen dafür, dass das System zu jeder Zeit ohne Störungen läuft, egal mit welchem Spiel es auch umgehen muss. Auch eine 1-TB-HDD mit 7.200 rpm und eine 128-GB-SSD sind mit dabei. Klar ist definitiv mehr als genug Power an Bord dieses Gaming-Modells und 4K-Gaming sowie VR-Betrieb werden keine Probleme darstellen. Zusätzlich kommt das Alienware 15 mit einer Windows Hello Kamera und Tobii Augen-Trackingsoftware daher, um ausgiebigen Gebrauch von Microsofts neuesten Sicherheitsfeatures zu machen.
Die höhere maximale TDP hält die Temperatur unter Kontrolle und das System bleibt auch unter extremer Grafiklast kühl. Auch die Audioqualität ist ähnlich hervorragend, da der Laptop mit einer größeren und effektiveren Lautsprecherbox ausgestattet ist, welche den Audio-Output deutlich klarer erscheinen lässt und dramatische Effekte und Gaming-Erfahrungen zulässt. Die Killer Doubleshot Technologie kann in Kombination mit der Wi-Fi-Antenne die Bandbreite erweitern, um optimale Gaming-Geschwindigkeiten bereitzustellen. Der Versuch von Seiten Dells, das System möglichst übersichtlich und nicht überladen zu gestalten, gelingt, da die meisten Ports an die Rückseite des Modells gewandert sind. Konnektivität sieht folgendermaßen aus: 3x USB 3.0/ 3.1. Gen 1 Ports, 1x Thunderbolt, 1x HDMI-Port, 1x DisplayPort, 1x Audioanschluss. Alienware has certainly improved the build quality of the gaming laptops with added rigidity and ease of access for customisation. The lid doesn’t extend as far back as most other gaming laptops and you don’t get an SD card reader. Performance wise, we’d like to mention that you should be getting a 240 W power adapter with the unit should you decide to get one. The 180 W adapter does not do any justice to the performance capabilities of this machine. Most laptops with a GTX 1070 cost around 1.7-1.8 lakhs.

It has as much power as any of its mainstream rivals, and has lighting that is both eye-catching and customisable, but can also be switched off when you’d rather let you laptop slip into the background. It’s very well-made, the keyboard is great and the frame has some connections you sometimes only see in a laptop dock. However, its omission of a memory card slot is odd, the fan system is fairly loud and while hardcore gamers may appreciate the use of (in some models) a TN display it doesn’t do pure image quality many favours. As usual with an Alienware machine, you can find similar specs for less money from value-driven alternatives from, for example, PC Specialist and the HP Omen range. Its price is competitive with its direct rivals, the Acer Predator and Asus RoG series, and this is easily the slimmest and classiest-looking of the trio.

Alienware: Alienware wurde 1996 in den USA gegründet. Die europäische Hauptniederlassung befindet sich in Irland. Alienware gehört seit 2006 zum Dell-Konzern. Die Produktpalette fokussiert vor allem Gaming-Laptops und -Desktops, die von Dell entwickelt und hergestellt werden. Markenzeichen ist ein leicht futuristisch anmutendes Design mit einem Alien als Logo. Zusätzlich werden Workstations für Privat- und Geschäftskunden vertrieben.
Wie bei jeder Marke gibt es auch bei Alienware einige Kritikpunkte. Einige Kunden haben sich über die hohen Preise der Produkte beschwert, während andere die Qualität der Kundendienstleistungen bemängelt haben. Es gab auch einige Berichte über Probleme mit der Zuverlässigkeit und Haltbarkeit einiger Alienware-Produkte. Allerdings haben viele Kunden auch positive Erfahrungen mit der Marke gemacht und schätzen die leistungsstarken Gaming-Computer.
Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M: Schnelle Notebook-Grafikkarte der High-End-Klasse aus der GeForce-GTX-900M-Baureihe. Basiert auf dem Maxwell-Chip GM204.
AMD Radeon R9 M295X: Tonga-basierte mobile High-End Grafikkarte von AMD.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M: Schnelle Notebook-Grafikkarte der unteren High-End-Klasse aus der GeForce-GTX-900M-Baureihe. Basiert auf entweder auf den Maxwell-Chip GM204 (ältere Version) oder GM206 (neuere Version ab 2016 mit höheren Taktraten).
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M: Schnelle Notebook-Grafikkarte der High-End-Klasse aus der GeForce-GTX-900M-Baureihe. Basiert auf dem Maxwell-Chip GM204.
Diese Grafikkarten sollten alle modernen Spiele flüssig darstellen können. Anspruchsvolle Spiele müssen jedoch in mittlerer Detailstufe gespielt werden. Ältere und weniger anspruchsvolle Spiele wie die Sims Serie können auch in hohen Detailsstufen flüssig dargestellt werden.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Mobile: High-End Notebook-Grafikkarte mit 6 GDDR5-Grafikspeicher und drittschnellste mobile Pascal-GPU nach der GTX 1080 und GTX 1070. Verfügt über 1.280 Shadereinheiten und taktet identisch wie die Desktop-Version.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Mobile: High-End Notebook-Grafikkarte mit 8 GDDR5-Grafikspeicher und zweitschnellste mobile Pascal-GPU nach der GTX 1080. Verfügt über 2.048 Shadereinheiten, taktet dafür jedoch etwas niedriger als die Desktop-Version (1.920 Shader). Die Max-Q Version für dünne Laptops (mit selber Produktbezeichnung) taktet nochmals geringer, bietet jedoch auch weniger TDP.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Max-Q: Efiiziente high-End Notebook-Grafikkarte mit 8 GDDR5X-Grafikspeicher basierend auf den Pascal GP104 Chip. Verfügt über 2.560 Shadereinheiten und bietet durch geringere Taktraten etwa 10-15 % weniger Performance als die normale Laptop GTX 1080, jedoch bei deutlich geringerem Stromverbrauch.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Mobile: High-End Notebook-Grafikkarte mit 8 GDDR5X-Grafikspeicher und schnellste mobile Pascal-GPU. Verfügt über 2.560 Shadereinheiten und bietet ähnliche Spezifikationen und Leistungsdaten wie die Desktop GTX 1080.

Intel Kaby Lake:
i7-7700HQ: Auf der Kaby-Lake-Architektur basierender Quad-Core-Prozessor für Notebooks. Integriert neben den vier CPU-Kernen (inkl. Hyper-Threading) auch eine HD Graphics 630 Grafikeinheit und wird im verbesserten 14-Nanometer-Prozess gefertigt.
i7-7820HK: Auf der Kaby-Lake-Architektur basierender Quad-Core Prozessor für größere Notebooks mit vier CPU Kernen welche mit 2,9 bis 3,9 GHz getaktet werden. Zweitschnellstes Modell der Kaby-Lake-H Serie Anfang 2017 und damit ein sehr schneller mobiler Prozessor zu dieser Zeit. Integriert eine Intel HD Graphics 630 GPU mit 350 - 1100 MHz und wird in 14 nm (verbessert im Vergleich zu Skylake) gefertigt. Technisch identisch zum Core i7-7820HQ jedoch ohne Unterstützung der Business-Features vPro und TXT.
Intel Coffee Lake:
i9-8950HK: Auf der Coffee-Lake-Architektur basierender SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für große Notebooks. Integriert unter anderem sechs CPU-Kerne mit 2,9 - 4,8 GHz (4,3 GHz bei 6 Kernen) und HyperThreading sowie eine Grafikeinheit und wird in 14-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt. Dank freiem Multiplikator ist ein Übertakten der CPU möglich.
i7-8750H: Auf der Coffee-Lake-Architektur basierender SoC (System-on-a-Chip) für große Notebooks. Integriert unter anderem sechs CPU-Kerne mit 2,2 - 4,1 GHz (4 GHz bei 4 Kernen, 3,9 GHz bei allen 6 Kernen) und HyperThreading sowie eine Grafikeinheit und wird in 14-Nanometer-Technik gefertigt.
