Continuing with some positive notes, build quality and design are both very impressive. The full anodised aluminium chassis feels very premium and the fit and finish of the laptop is top tier. The very generously sized trackpad feels well made but does travel slightly more towards the bottom edge. The keyboard features good quality RGB back lighting which is uniform and bright. Sound quality from the built in speakers is excellent and offers a more bass rich experience than is usually found on laptop speakers. We'd be happy to recommend the Blade 16 as generally it is a high quality laptop – were it not for the clear thermal issues that have been detailed in this review. That drops performance significantly and is not good enough considering the £3600 asking price.

As I spent time with the Blade 16, I couldn’t help but ask myself: Is it really worth spending more for a dual-mode screen, when fast 1,440p laptops are becoming increasingly affordable? Personally, I think that resolution sits at a sweet spot between delivering more pixels than 1080p, but also achieving faster refresh rates than any 4K panel. For most people, a 1,440p laptop (like the Zephyrus G14) simply makes more sense – especially when you can find them for $1,000 (or more) less than the Blade 16. Given its added heft, as well as its higher $2,700 starting price (with an RTX 4060), I can't recommend the Blade 16 to most buyers – not when the Blade 15 is still around and starts at $2,000 with a 3070 Ti. If you want the 4060, be prepared to shell out another $500. And if you’re mainly intrigued by the dual-mode display on the Blade 16, that costs $3,300 with an RTX 4070. Honestly, that’s a ridiculously high price for a laptop with that GPU. Our review unit cost a whopping $4,300 with the Core i9-13950HX, RTX 4090, 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD. But, just like much of Apple’s hardware, the Razer tax may be something we have to pay for innovation. As I spent time with the Blade 16, I couldn’t help but ask myself: Is it really worth spending more for a dual-mode screen, when fast 1,440p laptops are becoming increasingly affordable? Personally, I think that resolution sits at a sweet spot between delivering more pixels than 1080p, but also achieving faster refresh rates than any 4K panel. For most people, a 1,440p laptop (like the Zephyrus G14) simply makes more sense – especially when you can find them for $1,000 (or more) less than the Blade 16. Given its added heft, as well as its higher $2,700 starting price (with an RTX 4060), I can't recommend the Blade 16 to most buyers – not when the Blade 15 is still around and starts at $2,000 with a 3070 Ti. If you want the 4060, be prepared to shell out another $500. And if you’re mainly intrigued by the dual-mode display on the Blade 16, that costs $3,300 with an RTX 4070. Honestly, that’s a ridiculously high price for a laptop with that GPU. Our review unit cost a whopping $4,300 with the Core i9-13950HX, RTX 4090, 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD. But, just like much of Apple’s hardware, the Razer tax may be something we have to pay for innovation. The Blade 16’s dual-mode screen is one of the most remarkable things I’ve seen in a gaming laptop lately – but for most shoppers, the Blade 15 will be far more practical.

With that nitpick aside, the Blade 16 is an incredibly impressive package. There’s really very little to criticize about it (which is, of course, the most important thing about this laptop). It’s hot, it’s loud, and it picks up fingerprints — which are, at this point, just things to expect when purchasing Razer Blades. It certainly delivers one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had on a laptop (which, it really should, considering the price). Still, this device is so far out of the stratosphere of most people’s budgets that it’s hard for me to be too excited about it. What I do hope is that lower-priced variants of these chips, as well as new features like DLSS 3, will bring great performance to price points that are a bit more… of this world. Largely, I’m taking this machine as confirmation that Nvidia did its job and that, as the RTX 4000 series starts to roll out, gaming will be more fun for everyone.

The search Razer Blade 16search Blade 16 is a laptop that actually has me divided, both emotionally and figuratively. On the one hand, it is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, one hell of an engineering marvel, and it still impresses me till this day how the brand has managed to maintain the status quo for its design. And despite the occasional heat-induced stuttering that plagues it, it’s still a solid performer that never fails to deliver. That isn’t to say that the Blade 16 is flawless or even blemish-free. For instance, the Dual Mode display, while an interesting feature, is really nothing more than a gimmick. Don’t get me wrong, I think the ability to change the resolution on its 16:10 aspect ratio display between Full HD+ and 4K+ while still retaining a high refresh rate is nice, but at the end of the day, 120Hz at the latter resolution is more than plenty. That being said, I’d stick to a static QHD+ (2560 x 1600) 240Hz display, an option that Razer also offers and at a slightly cheaper asking price, but that’s just my personal preference.

Though they are on top of each other, so you would need to ensure your second SSD is only single-sided. I tried dropping in a drive with memory chips front and back and it absolutely did not fit. In terms of the relative fan noise, the Razer does impressively well, too. You can crank up the Windows and Razer Synapse performance levels to get the ultimate frame rates out of this thing, and you will pay for it in noise, though it's pitched well enough to not be too intrusive. But even on the top performance setting, Synapse does allow you to balance out the fans, which makes a huge difference to the sound, doesn't overheat the GPU, and doesn't drop overall gaming performance by more than a few FPS here and there.

The Razer Blade 16 is a powerful gaming laptop that looks as good as it plays. It’s certainly an investment with a starting price of $2,999, but if you’re looking for a professional-looking desktop replacement you can travel with, this could be the perfect laptop for you. As this is a gaming laptop, not having an onboard AI processor likely won’t be a dealbreaker. The same is true for battery life as you will probably keep the Razer Blade 16 plugged in most of the time. If you do want to use it for working while out and about, you’ll just need to work a bit faster or bring the included fast charger. The Razer Blade 16 is an absolute powerhouse with a refined design that’s as comfortable to work on as it is to game on. If you have the budget for it, you won’t be disappointed with this gaming laptop.

If you’re an enthusiast gamer with a hefty budget looking for a more portable solution, then the new Blade 16 will make you happy. Even the lowest possible entry cost is prohibitive to most shoppers; Razer has always had a premium associated with its brand, but the barrier to entry has grown quite high. The Blade 16 does, at least, provide a premium feel and experience for the price, with the top configurations pushing the expected level of power. Inclusions like the build materials, the slim power adapter, and others outlined above, are reasonable contributing factors, but it's expensive nonetheless. Powerful as it may be, it's not the top performer, either, and not quite meaningfully lighter or more mobile than some alternatives. For those with little concern for cost, the Lenovo Legion 9i Gen 8’s design isn’t quite as chic, but it’s just as thin and light, with notably better performance.

Das Razer Blade 16 ist ein Gaming-Notebook, mit dem ihr problemlos aktuelle Spiele rocken könnt. DLSS ist hier allerdings Pflicht. Zum einen könnt ihr durch den Einsatz die Akkulaufzeit verlängern, da die GPU weniger Strom ziehen muss und zum anderen stoßt ihr sonst auf Probleme, wollt ihr mit hohen Details bei 2.560 x 1.600 Pixeln zocken. Beachten solltet ihr noch, dass hier zwar eine mobile GeForce RTX 5090 verbaut ist, diese ist aber nicht mit der Leistung des Desktop-Pendants vergleichbar. Da geht es eher in die Richtung einer GeForce RTX 4070 Ti aus der letzten Generation. Ich selbst bevorzuge deswegen für das Spielen daheim weiterhin meinen Desktop-PC. Unterwegs kann ich auf diese High-End-Specs verzichten und mir reicht meine Nintendo Switch 2 voll aus. Das ist aber natürlich subjektiv. Wer z.

Razer opted for a non-gaming AMD Ryzen AI CPU to power the Blade 16 due to its ultra slim chassis. Razer also revamped the vapor chamber cooling system for the same reason. However, both have their issues. The Blade 16 (2025) still gets extraordinarily hot under pressure. And while the RTX 5090 gaming performance on the Blade 16 is very smooth, it isn’t quite as powerful as we expected, especially compared to the RTX 4090 or RTX 5080. It's not a bad implementation of the RTX 5090, but it is a complicated choice for the flagship GPU. The Razer Blade 16 is also an expensive laptop, with very pricey upgrades. While we haven’t tested the RTX 5080 or 5070Ti versions of the Blade 16 (2025), it may be worth opting for a more mid-range GPU to save some money without a massive performance hit.

Razer: Razer USA Ltd. ist ein 1998 gegründeter US-amerikanischer Hardware-Hersteller. Der Fokus liegt bei Gaming-Geräten sowie Zubehör, traditionell Computer-Mäuse und Mousepads. Oftmals wurden die Produkte nach Fabelwesen oder Tieren benannt. Es werden aber auch Razer Laptops angeboten unter der Reihenbezeichnung "Blade". Razer hat auch eine VOIP-Software namens Razer Comms herausgebracht.

High-End Grafikkarten welche auch neueste und anspruchsvolle 3D-Spiele in hohen Auflösungen und Detailstufen flüssig wiedergeben können. Durch den hohen Stromverbrauch, werden diese GPUs nur in großen und schweren Notebooks mit geringen Akkulaufzeiten angeboten.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPU: High-End-Notebookgrafikkarte basierend auf die Ada Lovelace Architektur. Bietet 12 GB GDDR6 VRAM (192 Bit) und ca 60-150W TGP (+ Dynamic Boost). Vorstellung sollte im Januar 2023 erfolgen, Verkaufsstart dann im Februar.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU: High-End-Notebookgrafikkarte basierend auf die Ada Lovelace Architektur. Bietet 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM (128 Bit) und ca 35-115W TGP (+ Dynamic Boost). Vorstellung sollte im Januar 2023 erfolgen, Verkaufsstart dann im Februar.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop: Die GeForce RTX 5090 Mobile verwendet den GB203 Chip und nutzt 10.496 Shader / CUDA Kerne von den maximalen 10.752, die der Chip hat. Damit ähnelt die RTX 5090 Laptop eher der RTX 5080 Desktop-Variante (gleicher Chip) als die Desktop RTX 5090 mit 20.760 Kernen und höheren Taktraten.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop: Eine schnelle Grafikkarte aus der Blackwell-Familie für Laptops, die auf dem GB203-Chip basiert und 8.192 Shader und 16 GB GDDR7-Grafikspeicher (256-Bit-Grafikbus) verwendet.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop: Eine kommende Grafikkarte aus der Blackwell-Familie für Laptops, die Team Green höchstwahrscheinlich auf der CES 2025 vorstellen wird. Wir gehen davon aus, dass sie auf dem GB205-Chip mit 5.888 aktiven Unified Shadern (CUDA-Kernen) basieren wird.

Diese Grafikkarten sollten alle modernen Spiele flüssig darstellen können. Anspruchsvolle Spiele müssen jedoch in mittlerer Detailstufe gespielt werden. Ältere und weniger anspruchsvolle Spiele wie die Sims Serie können auch in hohen Detailsstufen flüssig dargestellt werden.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060: Mittelklasse Desktop-Grafikkarte mit 8 GB GDDR6-Grafikspeicher. Verfügt über 3.072 Shadereinheiten und ist laut Hersteller mit einer Leistungsaufnahme von maximal 115 Watt beziffert.

Ryzen AI 9 HX 370: Der Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 ist ein schneller Strix Point prozessor für Notebooks welcher in 2024 vorgestellt wurde. Er integriert 12 CPU Kerne, 4 basierend auf die neue Zen 5 Architktur und 8 kleinere Zen 5c basierende Kerne (mit weniger Cache). Weiters integriert der Chip eine schnelle 50 TOPS XDNA 2 Neural Engine für AI Beschleunigung und eine schnelle 16 CU RDNA 3+ GPU.

Ryzen AI 9 365: Starker Mittelklasse Prozessor der Strix Point Familie aus Mitte 2024. Integriert 10 Zen 5/5c Prozessorkerne mit 2 - 5,1 GHz und eine starke 50 TOPS XDNA 2 AI Engine.

16.00: Dieser Bereich für Displayformate war und ist eine Seltenheit. Es ist größer als der allgemeine Standard von 15 Zoll, aber noch nicht im Bereich der großen Workstations. Man hat üblicherweise höhere Bildschirmauflösungen zur Verfügung, darunter leidet aber auch die Portabilität.
