Bereits das Xiaomi 15 hatte da als kompaktes Smartphone seine Stärken und das Xiaomi 17 setzt hier nun nochmals gewaltig einen drauf. Der neue Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 ist hingegen nicht der große Kaufgrund für das kompakte Flagship der Chinesen. Die Überhitzung ist ein Thema und das wird euch wohl auch bei allen Flagships 2026 weiter begleiten. Am Display ändert Xiaomi ebenfalls nichts und bleibt damit im unteren Helligkeitsbereich der Flaggschiff-Smartphones zurück. Dafür gibt es sichtbare und hörbare Verbesserungen bei der Kamera. Die Soundqualität bei Videos ist exzellent und auch die neue Selfiekamera liefert bei Fotos und Videos ab.

Herausragend ist die schier unendliche Akkulaufzeit, die in der Praxis ihresgleichen sucht. Das absolute Highlight ist aber das Display auf der Rückseite: Es bietet innovative Möglichkeiten zum Aufnehmen von Selfies und gibt dem Gerät einen eigenen Look. Die Schwächen finden sich bei den Sekundärkameras, der Video-Funktion und dem System. Die Ultraweitwinkel- und die Zoom-Kamera können nicht ganz mit der absoluten Flagship-Elite mithalten. Insbesondere ein Oppo Find X8 Ultra (zum Test) oder ein Vivo X200 Ultra (zum Test) können hier viel mehr abliefern und kosten auch nicht mehr. Ärgerlicherweise sind auch die Videos aufgrund des Xiaomi Fokus-Bugs unbrauchbar.

It has the latest and greatest chipset, a high-end display, an excellent build, a huge battery, snappy charging, amazing speakers and dependable camera hardware. The secondary display is a nice touch, as it makes the Pro Max stand out, but, most importantly, it makes the selfie-taking experience with the rear cameras so much more flexible. Despite being so well-rounded, however, it's hard to recommend the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max if you are looking for an amazing camera phone. The cameras here seem good to the average Joe, but there are objectively better alternatives with more capable hardware right now, and the telephoto camera is a miss. Sadly, the camera department is the only one that keeps the 17 Pro Max from getting an excellent score.

Diese Klasse ist noch durchaus fähig neueste Spiele flüssig darzustellen, nur nicht mehr mit allen Details und in hohen Auflösungen. Besonders anspruchsvolle Spiele laufen nur in minimalen Detailstufen, wodurch die grafische Qualität oft deutlich leidet. Diese Klasse ist nur noch für Gelegenheitsspieler empfehlenswert. Der Stromverbrauch von modernen Grafikkarten in dieser Klasse ist dafür geringer und erlaubt auch bessere Akkulaufzeiten.

Qualcomm Adreno 840: Integrierte Grafikeinheit im Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC für Smartphones mit drei Slices mit je 1,2 GHz. Laut Qualcomm um 23% schneller als die Vorgängergeneration (Adreno 830).
