Schöner einkaufen. Das 10,1 Zoll große Amazon-Tablet Fire HD 10 gibt es schon für günstige 200 Euro. Sein Android-basiertes Betriebssystem Fire OS dient zwar in erster Linie als Shopping-Plattform für Amazon-Produkte. Dafür lässt es sich einfach bedienen - und mit ein paar Tricks laufen auch Google Play und andere Android-Apps.

The sound and battery life are a bit better than you’d expect, the screen is as advertised. However, it’s just not that good, especially when the price is creeping towards the mid-range zone where every single tablet out there offers a far, far better display. It’s the screen resolution that puts me off the most. It's very pixellated.

Screen quality is only average, performance is mediocre and you’re forced to use Amazon’s Fire OS. While version 5 is a definite improvement over the awful previous releases, it’s still limited compared to vanilla Android and surprisingly buggy at launch. Unless you’re completely invested in the Amazon ecosystem, and have no need for Google apps including Chrome, Maps, YouTube and Drive, you’re signing up for a limited experience.

That fact alone will probably decide whether the Fire HD 10 is for you or not. Modell: Wer ein preisgünstiges Tablet sucht, welches gelegentlich Laptop-Aufgaben übernehmen kann, sollte das Amazon Fire HD 10 inch 2015 in die engere Wahl ziehen. Dieses Tablet ist mit einen Quad-Core-Prozessor, einer 5-MP-Kamera an der Rückseite, einer HD-Frontkamera und mit Dolby verbesserten Stereo-Lautsprechern ausgestattet. Wegen seines 10,1 Zoll großen Bildschirm im Breitbildformat ist es etwas schwerer und dicker als andere Tablets. Der breite Bildschirm reicht gerade für eine Bildschirmtastatur mit Tasten in Voll-Größe. Mit 149 ppi und einer Auflösung von 1280 x 800 Pixeln ist das Bild zum Rand zu merkbar verschwommen, doch es bleibt lesbar. Daher mag für Lesen vom Bildschirm nicht optimal sein.
Das eigentlich coole ist allerdings die Fülle an Entertainment, die Amazon zur Verfügung stellt. Abonnenten von Amazon Prime haben das wertvolle Privileg unbeschränkt auf Musik, Filme, TV-Shows, Bücher, Spiele und vieles mehr zugreifen zu können. Der interner Speicher von 16 oder 32 GB in Kombination mit einem microSD-Slot kann jedenfalls beruhigen. Nicht-Abonnenten können sich an Amazon Underground, das erste seiner Art, erfreuen. Dabei handelt sich um eine große Sammlung von freien Apps und Games mit einem Wert von jeweils US-Dollar 10. Insgesamt ist das Fire HD 10 wegen seiner mittelprächtigen Leistung ein gute Wahl für preisgünstiges Freizeitbeschäftigung.
