Der Intel Pentium Gold 6405U ist ein sparsamer Dual-Core-SoC der Comet-Lake-Architektur welche im Oktober 2019 vorgestellt wurde. Im Vergleich zu Kaby Lake und Whiskey Lake gibt es bei Comet Lake anscheinend keine Unterschiede ausser den zwei zusätzlichen Kernen im Topmodell Core i7-10710U. Der Prozessor wird weiterhin im reifen 14nm Prozess (14nm++ wie Whiskey Lake) hergestellt. Die Prozessorkerne takten mit fixen 2,4 GHz (kein Turbo) und bieten 4 Threads (HyperThreading) die gleichzeitig abgearbeitet werden können. Im Vergleich zu den stärkeren Core i3, i5 und i7-Varianten bietet der Pentium keinen SSE (2) Support.

Die integrierte Grafikkarte hört laut Intel auf den Namen Intel UHD Graphics, ist jedoch eine alte Intel UHD Graphics 610. Sie wird im Pentium 6405U mit 300 - 950 MHz getaktet und reicht nur für sehr anspruchsvolle Spiele. Weiters bietet die CPU noch einen integrierten LPDDR3-2133/DDR4-2400 Dual-Channel-Speichercontroller sowie VP9- und H.265-Videode- und -encoder.

Performance

Die Leitung des Pentium Gold 6405U ist in der Einstiegsklasse von Notebook-Prozessoren in 2019 angesiedelt. Durch den fehlenden Turbo und nur 2 Kerne kann die CPU weder bei Einzelkern- als auch Multikernaufgaben punkten. Daher eignet sich der Prozessor nur für anspruchslose Aufgaben wie Surfen mit wenigen Tabs und Office-Tätigkeiten.

Per cTDP-down kann der Stromverbrauch und die Leistung vom Notebookhersteller von 15 auf 12,5 Watt eingestellt werden. Der Prozessor läuft dann jedoch nur noch mit 800 MHz und deutlich reduzierter Leistung. Auch mit 15 Watt eignet sich der Prozessor jedoch für dünne und leichte Notebooks.

Intel Core i7-10610U

Der Intel Core i7-10610U ist ein sparsamer Quad-Core-SoC der Comet-Lake-Architektur welche im August 2019 vorgestellt wurde. Im Vergleich zu Kaby Lake und Whiskey Lake gibt es bei Comet Lake anscheinend keine Unterschiede ausser den zwei zusätzlichen Kernen im Topmodell (daher nicht hier beim i7-10510U). Der Prozessor wird weiterhin im reifen 14nm Prozess (14nm++ wie Whiskey Lake) hergestellt und kann dadurch einen sehr hohen Turbo Takt bieten. Die Prozessorkerne takten mit 1,8 bis 4,9 GHz (unverifiziert) und können dank HyperThreading 8 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Die CPU unterstützt im unterschied zum i7-10510U vPro.

Performance

Die Leistung des i7-10610U hängt stark vom konfigurierten TDP, wie lange der Boost laufen darf und von der Kühlung ab. Dadurch kann es zu einer hohen Schwankungsbreite kommen. Durch die hohen Taktraten sollte der i7 auch die alten Whiskey Lake Core i7 (z.B. Core i7-8665U) knapp abhängen können (wenn die Kühlung mitspielt). 

Per cTDP up/down kann der Stromverbrauch und die Leistung vom Notebookhersteller von 10 auf 25 Watt eingestellt werden. Um die volle Leistung des Prozessors abrufen zu können muss der Notebook-Hersteller jedoch bis zu 82W an Spitzen (PL4) zur Verfügung stellen (Whiskey Lake noch 71W).

Intel Core i5-10310U

Der Intel Core i5-10310U ist ein sparsamer Quad-Core-SoC der Comet-Lake-Architektur welche im August 2019 vorgestellt wurde. Im Vergleich zu Kaby Lake und Whiskey Lake gibt es bei Comet Lake anscheinend keine Unterschiede ausser den zwei zusätzlichen Kernen im Topmodell (daher nicht hier beim i5). Der Prozessor wird weiterhin im reifen 14nm Prozess (14nm++ wie Whiskey Lake) hergestellt und kann dadurch einen sehr hohen Turbo Takt bieten. Die Prozessorkerne takten mit 1,7 bis 4,4 GHz und können dank HyperThreading 8 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Im Vergleich zum schneller getakteten Core i5-10510U bietet der 10310U auch weniger L3 Cache (6 versus 8 MB). Die CPU unterstützt vPro.
