Intel Atom D525

Der Intel Atom D525 ist ein Doppelkernprozessor welcher für Netbooks gedacht ist, jedoch auch in Netbook (z.B. Asus Eee PC 1215N) eingesetzt wird. Er besteht aus zwei mit 1.8 GHz getakteten Atom Kernen (Pinetrail) welche dank Hyperthreading 4 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten können. Größter Nachteil des D525 ist das fehlende Speedstep, wordurch die CPU immer mit 1.8 GHz getaktet wird und ohne Last unnötig viel Strom verschwendet.

Im Prozessor Package befindet sich ausserdem ein Speicherkontroller für DDR2-600/800 bzw DDR3-800 (SODIMM) Hauptspeicher und die Intel GMA 3150 Grafikkarte.

Die Leistung des D525 liegt bei Multithreading Aufgaben auf dem Niveau von langsamen stromsparenden Einzelkernprozessoren (SU2700, K125). Bei Aufgaben die nur einen Kern beschäftigen, erreicht der D525 nur die langsame Performance eines 1.8 GHz Atoms, wordurch die Performance durchaus einschränkend sein kann.
