AMD A6-9220e

Der AMD A6-9220e ist ein Einstiegs-Modell der Stoney-Ridge APU-Serie für Notebooks (7. APU-Generation), die Mitte 2017 vorgestellt wurde. Der A6-9220e integriert zwei CPU-Kerne (ein Excavator-Modul mit 2 Integer und einer FP Recheneinheit) welche mit 1,6 bis 2,4 GHz getaktet werden . Zusätzlich ist eine Radeon R4 Grafikkarte mit wahrscheinlich 192 Shadern bei 600 MHz, ein Single-Channel-DDR4-2.133-Speicherkontroller, eine H.265 Videoengine und Chipsatz mit I/O Ports im Chip integriert. Im Vergleich zur A6-9220, ist der A6-9220e geringer getaktet (2,5 - 2,9 versus 1,6 - 2,4 GHz) und benötigt weniger Strom (15 versus 6 Watt TDP - daher passiv kühlbar). Auch die iGPU wird etwas geringer getaktet (600 versus 655 MHz).

Architektur

Bei Stoney Ridge handelt es sich um den nahezu baugleichen Nachfolger der Carrizo-Architektur, der dank optimierter Fertigung und aggressiverem Boost-Verhalten jedoch bei gleicher Leistungsaufnahme etwas höhere Taktraten erreicht. Des Weiteren unterstützt der Speichercontroller nun auch DDR4-RAM, in diesem Fall bis zu einer Frequenz von 2.133 MHz. Stoney Ridge bezeichnet den kleineren Dual-Core und Single-Channel Chip, während Bristol Ridge der große Quad-Core-Chip mit Dual-Channel Speicherkontroller ist. Performance

Durch die deutlich geringere Taktfrequenz, sollte der A6-9220e spürbar langsamer als der A6-9220 agieren. Im Cinebench R15 (alle Kerne) ist der 9220 im HP 255 G6 z.B. 38% schneller. Im Einzelkernbenchmarks ist der 9220 mehr als doppelt so schnell (219%). Verglichen mit aktuellen Intel-Prozessoren ist die Performance im CB15 vergleichbar mit dem alten Celeron N2820.

Grafikeinheit

Die integrierte Radeon R4 (Stoney Ridge) GPU verfügt wahrscheinlich wie die R5 über 192 aktive Shadereinheiten (3 Compute Cores), die jedoch nur mit bis zu 600 statt der 655 MHz getaktet werden. Mehr Informationen zur GPU gibt es auf oben verlinkten Detailseite.

Leistungsaufnahme

Die TDP des A6-9220e wird von AMD mit 6 Watt spezifiziert. Daher eignet sich die APU für dünne und leichte Notebooks und der Prozessor kann auch passiv gekühlt werden.
