Die CPU nutzt die neue Zen 4 Architektur und taktet diese von 4 GHz (Basistakt) bis zu 5,2 GHz (Einzelkern-Boost). Die CPU bietet 8 MB L2-Cache und 16 MB L3-Cache. Technisch identisch zum Ryzen 9 7940HS , jedoch mit höher getakteten Ryzen AI Engine und dadurch deutlich gesteigerter AI Leistung.
Die Performance des Topmodells der Hawk Point-Serie sollte bei 54W TDP vergleichbar mit dem AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX (ebenfalls 8 Zen 4 Kerne, max 5,1 GHz, 55W, 32 MB L3) und damit deutlich vor dem alten Spitzenmodell AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX bzw. 6980HS (mit geringerem TDP).
Der Chip integriert eine moderne RDNA 3 basierende Grafikkarte (iGPU) namens Radeon 780M mit 12 CUs und bis zu 2.8 GHz inklusive AV1 Video-Engine. Weiters ist auch ein Xilinx FPGA basierter XDNA AI Beschleuniger integriert, welcher nun höher getaktet wird. An Anschlüssen bietet Hawk Point 2x USB 4 (40 Gbps), 20 PCIe 4.0 Lanes und einen Dual-Channel DDR5-5600 / LPDDR5x-7500 Speicherkontroller (mit ECC Support).
Die Hawk Point Serie ist ein einzelner Chip (im Unterschied zur Dragon Range 7045HX Serie) und wird bei TSMC im modernen 4nm FinFET Prozess gefertigt.
AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D ► remove from comparison Der AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D ist ein High-End- Notebook-Prozessor der Dragon Range Serie mit 16-Kernen und Hyperthreading (SMT), womit dieser in Summe bis zu 32 Threads gleichzeitig verarbeiten kann. Als Besonderheit besitzt der HX3D auf einem CCD einen zusätzlichen 64M 3D V-Cache. Dadurch bietet die CPU 128 MB L3-Cache.
Die CPU nutzt die neue Zen 4 Architektur für die 16 Kerne und taktet diese von 2,3 GHz (Basistakt) bis zu 5,4 GHz (Einzelkern-Boost). Der 7945HX3D besteht aus drei Chiplets, zwei CCD-Cluster (einer mit zusätzlichem 3D V-Cache) mit je 8 CPU-Kernen in 5nm (71mm²) und einen IO-Die in 6nm (122mm²) welche alle bei TSMC hergestellt werden.
Die Leistung des Ryzen 9 sollte bei Spielen (trotz des etwas geringeren Basistaktes) deutlich oberhalb des Ryzen 9 7945HX liegen. Anwendungen die den großen Cache nicht nutzen, performen vergleichbar mit dem 7945HX und damit ähnlich zum Core i9-13900HX (24 Hybrid-Kerne, max 5.4 GHz) im Spitzenfeld der mobilen Prozessoren von 2023 sein.
Weiters integriert der Chip 4x USB 3.2 Gen2 (10 Gbps) ports (kein USB 4), 28 PCIe 5.0 Lanes (für GPUs und SSDs), einen Dual-Channel DDR5-5200 Speicherkontroller und eine kleine AMD Radeon 610M Grafikkarte (2CUs, 400 - 2200 MHz).
Der R9 7945HX3D ist mit 55 Watt TDP spezifiziert.
