Der AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX ist ein High-End-Notebook-Prozessor der Fire Range Serie mit 16-Kernen und Hyperthreading (SMT), womit dieser in Summe bis zu 32 Threads gleichzeitig verarbeiten kann. Der Chip bietet im Unterschied zum Ryzen 9 9955HX3D keinen 3D V-Cache. Der Chip wurde auf der CES Anfang 2025 vorgestellt und ist für schnelle und teure Gaming-Notebooks gedacht.
Durch die hoch getakteten 16 Zen 5 Kerne sollte die Performance der CPU hervorragend sein und nur in Games von dem 9955HX3D dank des 3D V-Cache geschlagen werden. Die CPU sollte damit gemeinsam mit dem Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX an der Spitze der mobilen CPUs stehen.
Der 9955HX ist für große und schwere Gaming-Notebooks gedacht und ist daher von 55- 75 Watt TDP konfigurierbar (Default 55 Watt). Der SoC wird im modernen 4nm FinFET Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt (beide Compute-Dies, I/O-Die in 6nm) und sollte daher eine sehr gute Energieeffizienz aufweisen.
