Von den 12 Prozessorkernen sind vier große Zen 5 Kerne und 8 kleinere Zen 5c Kerne mit weniger Cache.
Der Ryzen AI 9 Chip unterstützt LPDDR5x-8533 und DDR5-5600 RAM und ist kompatibel mit USB 4 (und damit Thunderbolt). Er unterstützt PCIe 4.0 mit einem Durchsatz von 1,9 GB/s pro Lane, genau wie seine Vorgänger der 8000er Serie. Die integrierte XDNA 2 NPU liefert bis zu 55 INT8 TOPS zur Beschleunigung verschiedener KI-Workloads.
Durch die leicht höheren Taktfrequenzen (+100 MHz im Boost z.B.) sollte der Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 leicht oberhalb des älteren Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 positioniert sein. Damit ist er ein sehr schneller Laptop-Prozessor der für alle Anwendungen sehr gut geeignet ist.
Der 470 hat einen Basis-TDP von 28 W, wobei es den Laptop-Herstellern freisteht, ihn auf bis zu 54 W aufzustocken.
Der 4-nm-TSMC-Prozess (N4P), mit dem die CPU-Kerne gefertigt werden, sorgt für eine gute Energieeffizienz.
