Der Intel Celeron 3865U ist ein sparsamer Dual-Core-SoC auf Basis der Kaby-Lake-Architektur, der im 1. Quartal 2017 vorgestellt wurde. Die CPU wird hauptsächlich in Ultrabooks, aber auch gewöhnlichen Notebooks verbaut. Neben den zwei CPU-Kernen ohne Hyper-Threading, die mit 1,8 GHz takten (kein Turbo Boost), integriert der Prozessor auch eine HD Graphics 610 Grafikeinheit sowie einen Dual-Channel-Speichercontroller (LPDDR3-1866/DDR4-2133/DDR3L-1600). Die Fertigung erfolgt in einem 14-Nanometer-Prozess mit FinFET-Transistoren. Im Vergleich zum ähnlichenIntel Celeron 3965U, ist der Celeron 3865U 400 MHz geringer getaktet.

Im Vergleich zum Celeron 3865, bietet der 3867 nur eine unterschiedlichen cTDP-down-Option (12,5 versus 10 Watt).

Architektur

Im Vergleich mit Skylake hat Intel die zugrundeliegende Mikroarchitektur praktisch unverändert übernommen, sodass sich keine Unterschiede in der Pro-MHz-Leistung ergeben. Überarbeitet wurde lediglich die Speed-Shift-Technik zur schnelleren dynamischen Anpassung von Spannungen und Taktraten, zudem gestattet der gereifte 14-Nanometer-Prozess deutlich höhere Frequenzen und eine bessere Energieeffizienz als bislang.

Performance

Der Celeron 3865U ist durch den fehlenden Turbo Boost in Einzelnkernbenchmarks deutlich langsamer als die schnelleren Core Modelle. Diese Einschränkung sollte in der täglichen Nutzung auch spürbar sein. Die Leistung sollte deutlich unterhalb des Intel Pentium 4405U und auch Celeron 3965U liegen, da die beiden Prozessorkerne relative niedrig getaktet werden.

Grafikeinheit

Die integrierte Grafikeinheit namens Intel HD Graphics 610 repräsentiert die kleinste, auch "GT1" genannte Ausbaustufe der Kaby-Lake-GPU (Intel Gen. 9) und taktet im Celeron mit 300 - 900 MHz.

Leistungsaufnahme

Dank "Configurable TDP" kann die CPU ausgehend von den standardmäßigen 15 Watt auch mit einer TDP von 10 Watt (cTDP Down) betrieben werden, wodurch sich jedoch die Performance reduziert. Je nach Einstellung ist der Chip für schlanke Note- und Ultrabooks ab etwa 11 Zoll Bilddiagonale geeignet.

Intel Xeon E3-1505M v6

Der Intel Xeon E3-1505M v6 ist ein schneller Quad-Core-Prozessor für Notebooks auf Basis der Kaby-Lake-Architektur, der im Jänner 2017 vorgestellt wurde. Zum Zeitpunkt der Präsentation stellt er das zweit-schnellste Modell der mobilen Xeons dar und positioniert sich leistungsmäßig knapp vor dem Core i7-7820HQ (ebenfalls Kaby Lake, 100 MHz langsamer getaktet). Im Vergleich zu den Core Prozessoren unterstützen die Xeon CPUs ECC-Speicher (Fehlerkorrektur). Neben den vier CPU-Kernen inklusive Hyper-Threading-Support, die mit 3 bis 4 GHz takten (4 Kerne: max. 3,6 GHz, 2 Kerne: max. 3,8 GHz), integriert der Prozessor auch eine HD Graphics P630 Grafikeinheit sowie einen Dual-Channel-Speichercontroller (DDR3L-1600/DDR4-2400). Die Fertigung erfolgt in einem 14-Nanometer-Prozess mit FinFET-Transistoren.

Architektur

Performance

Durch die hohen Taktraten positioniert sich auch der kleinere der beiden vor den schnellsten Skylake Modellen (Xeon E-1575M v5) und eignet sich daher auch für sehr anspruchsvolle Tätigkeiten.

Grafikeinheit

Die integrierte professionelle Intel HD Graphics P630 Grafikkarte verfügt wie die alte HD Graphics P530 über 24 Ausführungseinheiten (EUs) und taktet in diesem Fall mit 350 - 1100 MHz. Die Performance hängt stark vom verwendeten Arbeitsspeicher ab; mit schnellem DDR4-2133 im Dual-Channel-Betrieb sollte die Leistung mit einer dedizerten Nvidia GeForce 920M vergleichbar sein. Laut Intel entspricht die Leistung der P630 der Performance der P530 im SpecViewPerf 12. Sie bietet zertifzierte Treiber für 15 professionelle Anwendungen.

Anders als Skylake kann Kaby Lake nun auch H.265/HEVC im Main10-Profil mit 10 Bit Farbtiefe sowie Googles VP9-Codec in Hardware decodieren. Die Anfang Jänner eingeführten Dual-Core-Kaby-Lake-Prozessoren sollten außerdem schon HDCP 2.2 beherrschen.

Leistungsaufnahme

Die Fertigung erfolgt in einem weiter verbesserten 14-Nanometer-Prozess mit FinFET-Transistoren, wodurch die Energieeffizienz nochmals spürbar gestiegen ist. Die TDP wird mit 45 Watt spezifiziert und kann je nach Einsatzzweck auch auf 35 Watt abgesenkt werden vom Notebookhersteeller (cTDP Down). Dadurch verringert sich jedoch auch die Durchschnittliche Leistung, da der Turbo nicht so lange gehalten wird.

 

 

Intel Core i7-7820HK

Der Intel Core i7-7820HK ist ein schneller Quad-Core-Prozessor für Notebooks auf Basis der Kaby-Lake-Architektur, der im Jänner 2017 vorgestellt wurde. Zum Zeitpunkt der Präsentation ist er das zweitschnellste Modell seiner Baureihe. Neben den vier CPU-Kernen inklusive Hyper-Threading-Support, die mit 2,9 bis 3,9 GHz takten (4 Kerne: max. 3,5 GHz, 2 Kerne: max. 3,5 GHz), integriert der Prozessor auch eine HD Graphics 630 Grafikeinheit sowie einen Dual-Channel-Speichercontroller (DDR3L-1600/DDR4-2133). Die Fertigung erfolgt in einem 14-Nanometer-Prozess mit FinFET-Transistoren.

Der i7-7820HK ist technisch identisch zum Core i7-7820HQ jedoch ohne Unterstützung der Business-Features vPro und TXT.

Dadurch reicht die Leistung auch für sehr anspruchsvolle Aufgaben.
