Viel leiser als zuvor. Das Yoga Book 9i mit zwei Bildschirmen ist dieses Jahr mit neuen Meteor Lake-U CPUs und integrierter Arc-Grafik zurück. Die Unterschiede und Vorteile zum Modell aus 2023 finden wir jedoch nicht dort, wo wir sie erwartet hätten.

Das Lenovo Yoga Book 9i 2-in-1 Dual Screen feierte sein Debüt auf der CES 2023, bevor es im Sommer auf den Markt kam. Für das Jahr 2024 hat der Hersteller den Raptor Lake-U Prozessor gegen Meteor Lake-U getauscht, während fast alles andere gleich geblieben ist.

Unser Testgerät ist mit einer Core Ultra 7 155U CPU, 16 GB LPDDR5x-7467 RAM, 1 TB M.2 2242 PCIe4 x4 NVMe SSD und zwei identischen 2800 x 1800 OLED HDR500 Touchscreens ausgestattet und für einen ähnlichen Einführungspreis wie im Jahr 2023 erhältlich.

Es werden die gleichen Samsung SDC ATNA33AA02-0 OLED-Panels wie im Modell 2023 verwendet, d.h. das visuelle Erlebnis hat sich nicht verändert. Während es erfreulicherweise sehr viel Platz auf dem Bildschirm gibt, fühlt sich die Bildwiederholrate von 60 Hz langsam an. Andere OLED-Notebooks wie das Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro oder das Asus ZenBook 90 Hz sind hier deutlich schneller.

Die beiden Bildschirme weisen immer noch viele der gleichen störenden Verhaltensweisen auf wie das 2023-Modell. Zum Beispiel wird die Positionierung der Bildschirme nach einem Neustart immer wieder zurückgesetzt, selbst wenn ein dritter externer Bildschirm angeschlossen ist. Sie werden also viel Zeit damit verbringen, Ihre Bildschirme neu zu positionieren, wenn Sie das Notebook andocken.

Reaktionszeiten (Response Times) des Displays

Die Reaktionszeiten (Response Times) beschreiben wie schnell zwischen zwei Farben eines Pixels umgeschaltet werden kann. Langsame Response Times können zu einer verschwommenen Darstellung, Schlieren und Geisterbilder führen. Besonders bei schnellen 3D-Spielen sind kurze Umschaltzeiten wichtig.

Daher sind die gemessenen Reaktionszeiten besser als der Durchschnitt aller vermessenen Geräte (21.5 ms).

Daher sind die gemessenen Reaktionszeiten besser als der Durchschnitt aller vermessenen Geräte (33.7 ms).

Bildschirm-Flackern / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Eine günstige Methode um die Helligkeit eines Bildschirms zu steuern, ist die Beleuchtung periodisch ein- und auszuschalten. Dies nennt sich PWM (Pulsweitenmodulation) Diese Umschaltung sollte mit einer hohen Frequenz stattfinden damit das menschliche Auge kein Flimmern wahrnimmt. Wenn die Frequenz zu niedrig ist, kann dies zu Ermüdungserscheinungen, Augenbrennen, Kopfweh und auch sichtbaren Flackern führen.
Flackern / PWM festgestellt 60 Hz ≤ 100 % Helligkeit

Das Display flackert mit 60 Hz (im schlimmsten Fall, eventuell durch Pulsweitenmodulation PWM) bei einer eingestellten Helligkeit von 100 % und darunter. Darüber sollte es zu keinem Flackern kommen.

Die Frequenz von 60 Hz ist sehr gering und daher kann es bei allen Usern zu sichtbaren Flackern, brennenden Augen oder Kopfweh kommen.

Im Vergleich: 53 % aller getesteten Geräte nutzten kein PWM um die Helligkeit zu reduzieren. Wenn PWM eingesetzt wurde, dann bei einer Frequenz von durchschnittlich 17853 (Minimum 5, Maximum 3846000) Hz.

Die Pulsbreitenmodulation ist auf allen Helligkeitsstufen einschließlich der maximalen Einstellung vorhanden. Die Frequenz beträgt etwa 237 Hz von 0 bis 57 Prozent Helligkeit, bevor sie ab 58 Prozent Helligkeit auf 60 Hz wechselt.

Performance - Die neue Prozessor ändert nicht viel

 

Testbedingungen

Wir haben das System in den Performance Modus versetzt, bevor wir die folgenden Benchmarks durchgeführt haben. Lenovo Vantage wurde in diesem Jahr ebenfalls überarbeitet, um die Navigation zu erleichtern. Allerdings nutzen die Textfelder immer noch nicht die gesamte Breite des Bildschirms aus, so dass es große Bereiche mit leerem Weißraum gibt, wie die Screenshots unten zeigen.

Prozessor

Der Core Ultra 7 155U ist eine ULV-Variante mit niedrigeren Taktraten und einer langsameren integrierten GPU und nicht zu verwechseln mit dem Core Ultra 7 155H. In diesem Fall ist der Core Ultra 7 155U in unserem Lenovo etwa 35 Prozent langsamer als der Core Ultra 7 155H im Yoga 9 2-in-1 14IMH9. Signifikant ist auch, dass die CPU in unserem 2024er Yoga Book nur knapp schneller ist als der Core i7-1355U im älteren 2023er Modell.

GPU Performance - Arc 4 fühlt sich an wie Iris Xe

Anders als bei der Core Ultra H-Serie mit Arc 8, ist die Core Ultra U-Serie mit integrierter Arc 4 Grafikkarte ausgestattet. Arc 4 ist um 30 bis 50 Prozent langsamer und liegt damit sogar weit hinter der älteren Radeon 680M. In der Tat ist die neue GPU kaum schneller als die Iris Xe 96 EUs im Yoga Book 9 vom letzten Jahr, wie die nahezu identischen 3DMark-Ergebnisse und die Spieleleistung unten zeigen.

Im Leerlauf von Witcher 3 kommt es zu mehreren Einbrüchen der Bildrate, was auf unterbrechende Hintergrundaktivitäten oder ein Treiberproblem schließen lässt. Dies steht im Gegensatz zum 2023-Modell, das bei diesem Test konstante Bildraten ohne Mikrostottern lieferte.

Systemrauschen

Während die CPU- und GPU-Leistung gleich bleibt, ist das Lüftergeräusch überraschenderweise viel leiser als beim letztjährigen Modell. Der Betrieb von Witcher 3 liegt beispielsweise bei knapp über 27 dB(A) im Vergleich zu über 34 dB(A) beim 2023 Yoga Book 9i. Wir haben unsere Energieeinstellungen überprüft und den Test wiederholt, nur um sicherzugehen, aber die Ergebnisse haben sich nicht verändert.

Stress Test

Die Kerntaktrate und die Leistungsaufnahme des Boards stiegen auf 3 GHz bzw. 34 W, als der Prime95-Stress gestartet wurde. Nach dem Erreichen von 85 °C einige Sekunden später, fiel die CPU jedoch auf 1,8 GHz und 25 W, um eine kühlere Kerntemperatur von 75 °C aufrechtzuerhalten. Die maximale Turbo-Boost-Leistung ist daher nur von kurzer Dauer, wie von Laptops mit CPUs der U-Serie zu erwarten.

Die CPU-Gehäusetemperatur stabilisiert sich bei der Ausführung von Witcher 3 bei 83 °C im Vergleich zu 75 °C beim letztjährigen Modell.

Energieverwaltung

Stromverbrauch

Der Betrieb von Witcher 3 verbraucht etwa 30 W im Vergleich zu 45 W beim Modell von 2023. Der neuere Arc 4-Grafikprozessor kann also die gleiche Grafikleistung wie die Iris Xe 96 EUs erbringen, allerdings bei deutlich geringerem Energiebedarf und damit mit einem besseren Leistungsverhältnis pro Watt. Dies erklärt wahrscheinlich auch die oben erwähnten, unerwartet leisen Lüftergeräusche.

Akkulaufzeit

Die WLAN-Laufzeit Akkulaufzeit ist im Vergleich zum Vorjahr fast identisch und liegt bei etwa 10 Stunden, wenn der zweite Bildschirm deaktiviert ist. Wenn jedoch beide Bildschirme aktiviert sind und überwiegend weiße Farben anzuzeigen sind, sinkt unsere WLAN-Laufzeit auf nur 5,5 Stunden. Da die überwiegende Mehrheit der Websites einen weißen Hintergrund hat, kann das Öffnen mehrerer Browser Tabs auf beiden OLED-Bildschirmen einen hohen Tribut an Akkulaufzeit fordern.

Das CPU-Upgrade im Lenovo 2024 Yoga Book 9i mag für diejenigen enttäuschend sein, die auf eine Leistungssteigerung gehofft haben. Denn anstatt schneller als sein 2023er Vorgänger zu sein, läuft die 2024er Version leiser und stromsparender. Benutzer können daher mit dem neueren Modell eine ähnliche Leistung erzielen und gleichzeitig die Akkulaufzeit ausdehnen. 

Das Lenovo Yoga Book 9i 2024 bietet eine höhere Energieeffizienz, KI-Beschleunigung und ein leiseres Lüftergeräusch. Performance und die Ausstattung bleiben jedoch im Vergleich zum Vorjahr unverändert.

Hoffentlich werden wir in den kommenden Monaten eine stärkere Preissenkung für das ältere Modell sehen, um das Yoga Book 9i einem breiteren Publikum zugänglich zu machen, zumal die beiden Versionen in Bezug auf Aussehen, Displays und Gesamtleistung identisch sind.

Das Yoga Book 9i mit Core Ultra 7 155U kostet in unserer Testausstattung rund 2.500 Euro und ist zum Beispiel bei Amazon erhältlich.
