Fazit - Großes, erschwingliches 16-Zoll-Convertible für einfache Multimedia-Anwendungen

Der attraktivste Aspekt des IdeaPad 5 2-in-1 16IAL10 ist die Kombination aus einem günstigen Preis und Intels neuester Prozesser-Generation Arrow Lake-U Core Ultra 7. Die CPU selbst ist ein ordentliches Upgrade gegenüber dem letztjährigen Core Ultra 7 155U in Bezug auf die reine Leistung, während der Akku mit einer durchschnittlichen Kapazität von 57 Wh immer noch eine großartige Laufzeit bietet. Es handelt sich um ein einfaches 16-Zoll-Gerät, das sich bei grundlegenden Multimedia-Aufgaben auszeichnet - und das ist es, worum es bei der IdeaPad-5-Serie geht.

Die Abstriche sind nicht schwer zu erkennen: Als Budget-Modell verzichtet das System auf mehrere Funktionen, die normalerweise bei teureren 16-Zoll-Convertibles verfügbar sind, darunter Thunderbolt-Unterstützung und Anzeigeoptionen für sRGB- oder P3-Farben. Es ist auch etwas dicker und schwerer als die meisten anderen in seiner Klasse und damit ziemlich unhandlich für den Formfaktor Convertible. Das HP OmniBook X Flip 16 oder das Dell 16 Plus 2-in-1 ist zum Beispiel jeweils etwas leichter bzw. verfügt über viel bessere Displays für weniger als 1.000 US-Dollar zum Zeitpunkt der Erstellung dieses Artikels. Die Grafikleistung des Arc 4 ist ebenfalls sehr schwach, selbst im Vergleich zu anderen integrierten Lösungen wie dem Arc 140V oder der Radeon-780M/890M-Serie.

Das Lenovo IdeaPad 5 2-in-1 16IAL10 ist ein preiswertes 16-Zoll-Convertible als Gegenstück zum teureren Mittelklassegerät Yoga 7 2-in-1 16ILL10. Es ist außerdem eines der ersten Notebooks von Lenovo mit Intel-Arrow-Lake-U-Prozessor-Optionen.

Unser Testgerät ist mit dem Core Ultra 7 255U konfiguriert, während niedrigere Konfigurationen mit dem Core Ultra 5 225U geliefert werden. Alle SKUs sind ansonsten mit dem gleichen 1.200p-Touchscreen bestückt (Stand: Veröffentlichung).

Zu den Konkurrenten gehören andere 16-Zoll-Convertibles wie das Dell 16 Plus 2-in-1 oder HP Envy x360 2-in-1 16.

Bildschirm-Flackern / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Eine günstige Methode um die Helligkeit eines Bildschirms zu steuern, ist die Beleuchtung periodisch ein- und auszuschalten. Dies nennt sich PWM (Pulsweitenmodulation) Diese Umschaltung sollte mit einer hohen Frequenz stattfinden damit das menschliche Auge kein Flimmern wahrnimmt. Wenn die Frequenz zu niedrig ist, kann dies zu Ermüdungserscheinungen, Augenbrennen, Kopfweh und auch sichtbaren Flackern führen.
Flackern / PWM nicht festgestellt

Im Vergleich: 53 % aller getesteten Geräte nutzten kein PWM um die Helligkeit zu reduzieren. Wenn PWM eingesetzt wurde, dann bei einer Frequenz von durchschnittlich 8023 (Minimum 5, Maximum 343500) Hz.
