Der SoC beinhaltet acht Zen 2 Kerne (Octa-Core CPU) welche mit bis zu 4,3 GHz getaktet werden (Turbo) und SMT / Hyperthreading (16 Threads) unterstützen. Der Chip wird im modernen 7nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und wurde Anfang 2021 vorgestellt. Im Vergleich zum Topmodell, dem R7 5800U , basiert der 5700U noch nicht auf die neue Zen 3 Architektur und bietet nur den halben L3-Cache und um 100 MHz geringere Taktraten. Damit sollte der Chip der Renoir Generation entsprechen, z.B. dem etwas langsamer gektateten Ryzen 7 4800U . Der SoC integriert neben den acht Prozessorkernen noch eine Radeon RX Vega 8 Grafikkarte mit 8 CUs und bis zu 1900 MHz Takt, einen Dual-Channel DDR4 Speicherkontroller (DDR4-3200, LPDDR4-4266) und 8 MB Level 3 Cache.
Der TDP ist weiterhin von 10 - 25 Watt konfigurierbar (15 Watt Default, in den meisten Notebooks aber 25 Watt). Daher ist der Chip auch für kleine und leichte Notebooks geeignet.
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X ► remove from comparison Der AMD Ryzen 9 5950X ist ein High-End- Desktop-Prozessor der Vermeer Serie mit 16-Kernen und Hyperthreading (SMT). Mit 32 Threads bietet das neue Flaggschiff genauso viel Threads wie der AMD Ryzen 9 3950X . Mit der Vorstellung am 08.10.2020 ist der Ryzen 9 5950X der schnellste 16-Kern-Prozessor und mit 105 Watt TDP spezifiziert.
Der Ryzen 9 5950X taktet mit 3,4 GHz Basistakt und erreicht im Turbo bis zu 4,9 GHz auf einem Kern. Bei Last aller 16 Kerne sind aber noch immer bis zu 4,5 GHz möglich.
Die Leistung des AMD Ryzen 9 5950X ist durchweg bei allen Anwendungen sehr hoch und konnte im Vergleich zum AMD Ryzen 9 3950X deutlich gesteigert werden. AMD konnte vor allem die Single-Thread-Performance noch einmal deutlich verbessern und schlägt in dieser Disziplin sogar den Intel Core i9-10900K . Die Multi-Thread-Performance ist aufgrund der 16 Kerne hervorragend.
Der interne Aufbau des Prozessors hat sich auf den ersten Blick nicht grundlegend verändert. Der CCX-Aufbau hat sich im Vergleich zu Zen2 etwas verändert, denn nun beisteht ein CCX aus bis zu 8-CPU-Kernen. Somit kann jeder einzelne Kern auf den kompletten L3-Cache (32 MByte) zugreifen. Weiterhin werden die CCX-Module über den gleichen I/O-Die miteinander verbunden, welchen wir auch schon von Zen2 her kennen. Die Infinity-Fabric soll laut AMD aber nun Taktraten von bis zu 2 Ghz erreichen, was im Umkehrschluss einen RAM-Takt von 4.000 MHz ohne Performanceverlust ermöglicht.
Bei den Fertigungsverfahren setzt AMD auch bei den Vermeer-Prozessoren auf TSCM für die 7nm-Fertigung der CPU-Kerne, wenngleich der I/O-Die weiterhin in 12 nm von Gobalfoundries geliefert wird.
Bei Spielen kann der AMD Ryzen 9 5950X dank der deutlich verbesserten IPC durchweg überzeugen und den AMD Ryzen 9 5900X leicht hinter sich lassen. Der AMD Ryzen 9 5950X ist die perfekte CPU für Content-Creator, denn neben dem Spielen meistert das neue Flaggschiff auch das gleichzeitige Streamen. Wer jedoch nur Spielen möchte, ist gut beraten sich den AMD Ryzen 7 5800X oder den AMD Ryzen 5 5600X genauer anzuschauen.
