Intel Core Ultra 9 185H ► remove from comparison Der Intel Core Ultra 9 185H ist eine High-End-CPU der Meteor-Lake-H-Serie die im Dezember 2023 vorgestellt wurde. Der SoC setzt zum ersten Mal auf ein Tile/Chiplet-Design. Der Compute-Tile bietet 6 Performance Kerne (P-Kerne, Redwood Cove Architektur) und 8 Effizienzkerne (E-Kerne, Crestmont Architektur). Die P-Kerne unterstützten Hyperthreading (daher gemeinsam 22 Threads) und takten bis 5,1 GHz. Die E-Kerne takten mit maximal 3,8 GHz. Zusätzlich gibt es nun noch zwei weitere Low-Power-Efficiency-Kerne auf der Low-Power-Island, im Leerlauf und bei einfachen Aufgaben kann der Compute-Tile daher komplett deaktiviert werden, um Strom zu sparen.
Performance
Mit Meteor-Lake-P wird die bisherige Architektur weiter verbessert, es gibt aber keine grundlegenden Änderungen. Die Leistung ist daher auch nur geringfügig höher als bei den Raptor-Lake-Prozessoren. Im Vergleich zum Core Ultra 7 165H , bietet der U9 185H nur einen 100 MHz höheren Boost takt der CPU und 50 MHz bei der iGPU.
Grafikeinheit
Der Core Ultra 9 185H bietet eine neue ARC-iGPU mit 8 Xe-Kernen und 128 EUs, die maximal 2,35 GHz erreichen. Die Leistung gegenüber der alten Iris Xe Graphics G7 mit 96 EUs konnte ungefähr verdoppelt werden.
Features
Meteor Lake-H hat WiFi 6E und Thunderbolt 4 (4x) integriert. Der integrierte Speicherkontroller unterstützt jetzt LPDDR5/x-7467 (max. 64 GB) oder DDR5-5600 (max. 96 GB). Es kommt nun eine dedizierte NPU (2x Gen3 Neural Compute Engines) zum Einsatz. Die Xe Media Engine unterstützt MPEG-2, AVC, VC-1 Decode, JPEG, VP8 Decode, VP9, HEVC und AV1 Decode bis zu 8K 10-Bit HDR. Der Chip unterstützt jetzt PCIe-5.0 (x8 für GPU) und PCIe-4.0 (drei x12 für SSDs).
Leistungsaufnahme
Der Intel Core Ultra 9 185H ist mit 28 Watt TDP (Base) und 64 Watt bzw. 115 Watt (PL2) max. Turbo Power angegeben. Meteor Lake besteht aus fünf einzelnen Chips, wobei der Prozessorteil im neuen Intel 4 Prozess (7nm) gefertigt wird. Die Grafikeinheit wird bei TSMC in N5 produziert und SoC und I/O-Tile im älteren N6 Prozess. Diese 4 Chips werden dann per Foveros-Verfahren auf den 22nm Base-Tile aufgebracht.
Intel Core Ultra 9 288V ► remove from comparison Der Intel Core Ultra 7 288V ist der schnellste Prozessor der Lunar Lake-Familie bei Markteinführung dank seines höheren TDP-Ziels und seiner höheren Taktraten. Dies ist ein SoC für den Einsatz in Laptops und Tablets der schlankeren Art, der über 4 brandneue E-Kerne und 4 etwas neue P-Kerne verfügt, die mit 3,3 GHz bis zu 5,1 GHz laufen, zusammen mit dem vielversprechenden neuen Arc 140V iGPU und 32 GB integriertem LPDDR5x-8533 RAM. Eine neue 48 TOPS neuronale Engine, TB 4 und PCIe 5 SSD Unterstützung sind ebenfalls enthalten.
Architektur und Funktionen
Lunar Lake basiert auf der Foveros-Technologie (Stapeln mehrerer Chips übereinander und nebeneinander), genau wie Meteor Lake. Diese neuen Chips nutzen die riesige BGA2833-Sockelschnittstelle; Lion Cove P-Kerne ersetzen Redwood-Kerne, während Crestmont E-Kerne zugunsten von Skymont entsorgt wurden, wobei letzterer Berichten zufolge so energieeffizient ist, dass die zusätzlichen 2 Low Power Island CPU-Kerne, die Meteor Lake hatte, völlig überflüssig sind. Von den 8 Kernen ist kein einziger Hyper-Threading-fähig, was das Gegenteil von dem ist, was AMD derzeit mit seinen Zen 5/5c Chips .
Intel behauptet, dass die Lion Cove Kerne eine 14%ige-IPC-Verbesserung mit sich bringen. Bei Skymont sind es 68%. Auch andere generationsübergreifende Verbesserungen sind vorhanden, wie z.B. die Low Latency Fabric, die kleine Datentransfers zwischen Kernen/Caches viel schneller machen soll. An anderer Stelle verfügt der 288V über 4 PCIe 5 und 4 PCIe 4 Lanes für den Anschluss verschiedener Geräte, einschließlich NVMe SSDs mit bis zu 15,75 GB/s. Die Unterstützung für TB 4 ist standardmäßig an Bord, ebenso wie die Unterstützung für CNVi WiFi 7 + BT 5.4 Karten von Intel. Die 48 TOPS AI Boost neuronale Engine ist zusammen mit Technologien wie Threat Detection vorhanden, um KI-fähige Anwendungen wie den Windows Defender noch leistungsfähiger zu machen.
Das 288V wird mit 32 GB nicht einfach austauschbarem LPDDR5X-8533 RAM auf dem Chip ausgeliefert.
Performance
Die effizienten Kerne des Chips laufen mit bis zu 3,7 GHz. Bei den P-Kernen sind es bis zu 5,1 GHz.
Wir erwarten, dass der durchschnittliche 288V genauso schnell ist wie ältere AMD- und Intel-Chips der U-Klasse wie der Ryzen 7 6800U und Core i7-1355U wenn es um die Multi-Thread-Leistung geht.
Grafik
Die Arc Grafik 140V verfügt über 8 Kerne der Xe²-Architektur, die mit bis zu 2.050 MHz laufen, sowie über 8 Raytracing-Einheiten. Sie ist DirectX 12 Ultimate-fähig und kann eine lange Liste gängiger Videocodecs wie h.266 VVC, h.265 HEVC, h.264 AVC, AV1 und VP9 HW-dekodieren. Drei SUHD 4320p Monitore können gleichzeitig mit dieser iGPU verwendet werden.
Die Leistung in der Praxis wird etwas besser sein als die der Radeon 780M und die Arc 8 dank der neuen Architektur, Kernanzahl und hohen Taktraten.
Stromverbrauch
Die meisten Lunar Lake Prozessoren haben ein langfristiges Energieziel von 17 W. Der 288V hat stattdessen 30 W zur Verfügung, während der von Intel empfohlene kurzfristige PL für den Chip bei 37 W liegt.
