Der Intel Core i9-12900H ist eine High-End-CPU auf Basis der neuen Alder-Lake-Architektur, die im Januar 2022 vorgestellt wurde. Die CPU basiert auf den Alder Lake-P Chip (für H und P-Serie) und bietet alle 6 Performance Kerne (P-Kerne, Golden Cove Architektur) und 8 Effizienzkerne (E-Kerne, Gracemont Architektur). Die P-Kerne unterstützten Hyperthreading (daher gemeinsam 20 Threads) und takten von 2,5 bis 5 GHz. Die E-Kerne takten von 1,8 - 3,8 GHz und sollen eine vergleichbare Performance wie alte Skylake Kerne bieten (z.B. i7-6920HQ ). Im Vergleich zum 12900HK bietet der 12900H keinen freien Multiplikator, aber unterstützt das volle "Enterprise" Feature-Set von vPro (Management Features).
Performance
Im Vergleich zum Intel Core i9-11980HK (Tiger Lake-H mit 8 Kernen) kann der 12900H in allen Bereichen punkten. Die neuen Golden Cove Kerne bieten eine leicht höhere Single Thread Performance und dank der gesamt 14 Kerne können Multi-Thread-Anwendungen deutlich beschleunigt werden. Intel gibt z.b. bei Spielen eine 13% höhere Performance an (1080p high) und bei Blender Rendering 30% weniger Renderzeit (BMW Car Demo).
Grafikeinheit
Wie auch der Vorgänger, integriert Intel in Alder Lake eine Intel Xe basierende Grafikeinheit. Beim 12900H sind alle 96 EUs aktiviert und takten mit bis zu 1,45 GHz.
Features
Wie auch Tiger Lake, hat auch Alder-Lake-P WiFi 6E und Thunderbolt 4 (4x) teilintegriert. Der integrierte Speicherkontroller unterstützt DDR5-4800, DDR4-3200, LPDDR5-5200 und LPDDR4x-4267. Der integrierte Gaussian and Neural Accelerator (GNA) ist nun in Version 3.0 verbaut. Die Media Engine Quick Sync 8 ist die selbe wie in Rocket Lake und unterstützt MPEG-2, AVC, VC-1 Decode, JPEG, VP8 Decode, VP9, HEVC und AV1 Decode. Der Chip unterstützt nur PCIe 4.0 (x8 for GPU und zwei x4 für SSDs).
Leistungsaufnahme
Der Intel Core i9-12900H ist mit 45 Watt TDP angegeben (115W PL2). Bei geringer Last, sollte der Stromverbrauch dank der sparsamen Gracemont Kerne sehr gut sein. Gefertigt wird der 12900H im modernen Intel 7 Prozess (10 nm).
Intel Core i5-4460 ► remove from comparison
Der Intel Core i5- 4460 ist ein Quad-Core Desktop-Prozessor auf Basis der Haswell-Architektur, der im Q2 2014 vorgestellt wurde. Die in einem 22-Nanometer-Prozess gefertigte CPU taktet mit 3,2 bis 3,4 GHz und bietet kein Hyper-Threading (daher nur 4 Threads parallel).
Architektur
Haswell ist der Nachfolger der 2012 vorgestellten Ivy-Bridge-Architektur und soll vor allem mit höherer Performance und verbesserter Energieeffizienz punkten. So wurde sowohl die Sprungvorhersage optimiert als auch die Zahl der Ausführungseinheiten erhöht, was insbesondere bei Verwendung von Hyper-Threading (falls unterstützt) deutliche Leistungszuwächse verspricht. Neue Befehlssatzerweiterungen wie AVX2 und FMA sollen die Performance in darauf ausgelegten Anwendungen zusätzlich verbessern.
Performance
Die Performance des i5-4460 liegt etwas oberhalb des älteren Core i5-4430 (geringere Taktraten) und knapp unterhalb eines Core i5-6600T (Skylake) . Bei den mobilen Prozessoren ist ein Core i5-6300HQ vergleichbar schnell.
Insgesamt besitzt der i5-4460 für sämtliche Alltagsanwendungen, aktuelle Spiele und (moderates) Multitasking ausreichende Leistungsreserven.
Grafikeinheit
Für die Grafikausgabe zeigt sich die im Prozessor integrierte Intel HD Graphics 4600 verantwortlich, die mit 350 - 1100 MHz taktet. Das Performance-Plus gegenüber der HD Graphics 4000 liegt bei rund 30 Prozent, dennoch reicht die Leistung in Spielen des Jahres 2015 allenfalls für minimale Grafikeinstellungen.
Leistungsaufnahme
Die TDP wird von Intel mit 84 Watt spezifiziert, wird in der Praxis aber kaum ausgereizt.

Der Intel Core i5-1250P ist eine Mid-Range Notebook-CPU auf Basis der neuen Alder-Lake-Architektur, die im Januar 2022 vorgestellt wurde. Die CPU basiert auf den Alder Lake-P Chip (für H und P-Serie) und bietet 4 der 6 Performance Kerne (P-Kerne, Golden Cove Architektur) und alle 8 Effizienzkerne (E-Kerne, Gracemont Architektur). Die P-Kerne unterstützten Hyperthreading (daher gemeinsam 16 Threads) und takten von 1,7 bis 4,4 GHz. Die E-Kerne takten von 1,2 - 3,3 GHz und sollen eine vergleichbare Performance wie alte Skylake Kerne bieten (z.B. i7-6300HQ ). Im Vergleich zum Core i7-1260P , bietet der i5-1250P geringere Taktraten, weniger L3 Cache, eine schwächere iGPU aber dafür volle "Enterprise" vPro Management Features.
Performance
Durch die 12 Kerne sollte die Multithread-Leistung deutlich oberhalb der alten 28 Watt 4-Kerner der Tiger Lake Serie liegen (wie z.B. dem i5-1145G7 ). Im Vergleich zu der H-Serie wird bei längerer Last aber der TDP die Leistung limitieren. Bei der Einzelkernperformance sollte der i5-1250P dank der neuen Architektur auch ähnlich schnelle Tiger Lake CPUs abhängen können.
