Samsung Exynos 2200

Der Samsung Exynos 2200 ist ein High-End-SoC für Android basierte Smartphones mit 8 CPU-Kernen, welche sich über drei Cluster verteilen. Für eine schnelle Einzelkernperformance ist der große ARM Cortex-X2 mit bis zu 2,8 GHz zuständig. Zur Seite stehen im drei etwas langsamere Cortex-A710 mit bis zu 2,52 GHz. Das dritte Cluster ist mit vier sparsamen Cortex-A510 (max. 1,82 GHz) bestückt. 

Außerdem integriert das SoC ein schnelles 5G-Modem mit bis zu 7,35 GBit/s (5G NR Sub-6Hz, 5G NR mmWave, LTE Cat.24 DL / Cat.22 UL), einen Bildprozessor für eine 200 MPix-Kamera, einen AI-Beschleuniger (Dual-Core NPU), welche doppelt so leistungsfähig wie jene aus dem Exynos 2100 sein soll, und eine Video Engine für 8k60-Dekodierung (HEVC (H.265, 10 Bit), 30 fps VP9 und AV1) und 8k30-Encodierung (H.265, 10 Bit, HEVC und VP9).

Als Neuheit integriert Samsung eine Grafikkarte basierend auf die aktuelle RDNA 2 Architektur von AMD und nennt sie Samsung Xclipse 920 GPU.

In unseren Performance-Tests der CPU positioniert sich der Exynos 2200 leicht hinter dem Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 sowie dem Apple A15, zeigt sich trotz des verringerten Taktes im Single-Core-Betrieb jedoch etwas schneller als sein Vorgänger und ähnlich schnell, wenn alle Kerne zum Einsatz kommen. 

Der Chip wird im modernen 4-nm-Prozess bei Samsung gefertigt.
