Die NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M SLI ist eine DirectX 11 Grafiklösung, welche aus einem Verbund zweier GeForce GT 755M Grafikkarten besteht. Die GT 755M basiert auf dem in 28nm gefertigten GK107-Chip (Kepler-Architektur) und verfügt über 384 Shader-Einheiten sowie ein 128 Bit breites Speicherinterface. Im Vergleich zur GT 750M taktet die 755M minimal höher und wird anscheinend nur mit GDDR5 Grafikspeicher verbaut.

Normalerweise rendern beide Karten je ein Bild abwechselnd, wodurch es zu ungleichmäßigen Abständen zwischen den Frames und damit Microrucklern kommen kann. Ausserdem kann man den Grafikspeicher beider Karten nicht zusammenrechnen, da jede Grafikkarte denselben Speicherinhalt vorrätig halten muss.

Architektur

Der GK107 verfügt als derzeit zweitkleinster Kepler-Chip (nach GK208) über 2 Shader-Blöcke (SMX). Zusammen mit zwei Polymorph Engines und einer gemeinsamen Raster Engine bilden diese einen sogenannten GPC (Graphics Processing Cluster). Da die Shader keine eigene Takt-Domain mehr besitzen (Hot Clock), entspricht die Rechenleistung der 384 ALUs in etwa 192 Einheiten der Fermi-Architektur mit doppelter Taktrate.

Die GT 755M verfügt über den sogenannten GPU Boost 2.0, der in Abhängigkeit von den thermischen Gegebenheiten die GPU-Taktrate um bis zu 15 Prozent anheben kann. Dieses Feature wird von jedem Notebook mit einer Grafikkarte der 700M-Serie unterstützt. Als weitere Besonderheit ist der Chip bereits mit dem neusten PCIe-Standard 3.0 kompatibel.

Leistung

Abhängig von Taktrate und Speicherausstattung positioniert sich die GT 755M SLI-Konfiguration etwa im Bereich einer einzelnen GeForce GTX 770M oder GTX 680M. Je nach Spiel kann es dabei allerdings große Unterschiede geben, je nach dem, wie gut SLI im konkreten Fall skaliert. In vielen aktuellen Titeln (Stand 2013) können damit auch bei FullHD-Auflösung noch hohe oder sehr hohe Details mit flüssigen Bildraten dargestellt werden.
