Kompakter Gaming-PC! Kompakte Mini-PCs mit dedizierter Grafikkarte sind nicht sehr verbreitet. Mit dem Neptune Series HX77G hat Minisforum einen kompakten Mini-PC mit AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS und einer AMD Radeon RX 6600M im Portfolio. Wir haben uns das Gerät genau angeschaut und die Leistung anhand vieler Benchmarks und aktueller Spiele analysiert.

Mit dem Minisforum Neptune Series HX77G betreibt der chinesische Hersteller weiterhin Produktpflege in kleinem Stil, denn im Vergleich zum Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G hat sich nur das SoC geändert. Der AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX muss weichen und wird durch den AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS ersetzt. Dabei handelt es sich ebenfalls nur um ein SoC der AMD-Rembrandt-Serie. Vielmehr hätten wir ein Upgrade auf AMDs Zen4-Prozessoren aka Phoenix erwartet. Bei der dedizierten Grafikkarte gibt es mit der AMD Radeon RX 6600M bekannte Kost. Auch hier hätte der Hersteller lieber auf das Nachfolgemodell, die AMD Radeon RX 7600M, setzen sollen. Neben dem CPU-Upgrade gibt es allerdings eine moderne Anschlussausstattung inklusive Thunderbolt. Mit 32-GB-RAM knausert Minisforum bei unserer Testausstattung nicht, wenngleich beim Massenspeicher nur 512 GB herhalten müssen. Aktuelle Angebote mit 1-TB-Speicherplatz gibt es unterdessen für 880 Euro bei Amazon.

Gehäuse - Weiterhin nur Kunststoff

Leider sehen wir beim Minisforum Neptune Series HX77G das gleiche Gehäuse wie schon beim Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G oder dem Minisforum Neptune Series HX90G. Bei der Materialauswahl erblicken wir überwiegend Kunststoff, welcher allerdings gut verarbeitet ist und somit optisch wertig erscheint. Dass Minisforum aber auch bessere Gehäuse anbietet, haben wir bereits gesehen. Der Minisforum Neptune Series HN2673 basiert zum Beispiel auf einem schicken Metallgehäuse, was haptisch in einer anderen Liga spielt.

Somit sind auch die Dimensionen im Vergleich zum HX99G identisch. Beim Gewicht legt unser Testsample nicht weiter zu, was darauf hindeutet, dass auch bei der Kühleinheit nichts verändert wurde. Mit ca. 1,6 Kilogramm ist der kompakte Gaming-PC recht leicht, wenngleich das externe Netzteil noch einmal etwa 650 Gramm auf die Waage bringt, aber nicht aus dem Rahmen fällt.

Ausstattung - Modern dank USB4 und Thunderbolt

Bei der Anschlussvielfalt des Minisforum Neptune Series HX77G gibt es nicht viel auszusetzen. Viele USB-Anschlüsse inklusive USB4 sind vorhanden und verteilen sich auf Vorder- und Rückseite. Bildschirme lassen sich via HDMI oder USB-C anschließen, womit in Summe vier Bildschirme gleichzeitig betrieben werden können.

Kommunikation

WLAN-Modul im Minisforum Neptune Series HX77G

Der Hersteller setzt auch im Minisforum Neptune Series HX77G ein Wi-Fi-6E-Modul von Mediatek ein. Das Mediatek RZ608 Wi-Fi-Modul haben wir schon öfter in den Geräten von Minisforum angetroffen. Im Praxistest, für den wir unseren Testrouter Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 nutzen, sehen wir eine ähnliche Performance wie bei den Vergleichsgeräten aus demselben Hause. Die Leistung eines Intel-Wi-Fi-6E-Moduls kann jedoch nicht erreicht werden. Für schnellere Datenverbindungen kann als Alternative auch die LAN-Buchse verwendet werden. Diese unterstützt maximal 2,5 GBit/s.

Wartung

Da Minisforum den Minisforum Neptune Series HX77G auch als Barebone-Version anbietet, erwarten wir ein einfaches Öffnen, um SSD und RAM zu installieren. Grundsätzlich lässt sich das Gerät öffnen, wenn die vier Schrauben, welche sich unter der seitlichen Gummiabdeckung befinden, entfernt werden. Das ist unserer Ansicht nach nicht anwenderfreundlich. Unter der Kunststoffabdeckung befindet sich ein stabiler Metallkäfig, welcher ebenfalls mit Schrauben fixiert ist. Darunter verbergen sich zwei Steckplätze für DDR5-Arbeitsspeicher sowie zwei M.2-Schnittstellen, um Massenspeicher zu installieren. Das WLAN-Modul ist immer vorinstalliert und kann gegebenenfalls getauscht werden. An die Kühleinheit gelangt man nur, wenn die komplette Platine ausgebaut wird. Von einer Demontage des Kühlers wird aber explizit abgeraten, denn Minisforum verbaut auch im Neptune Series HX77G Flüssigmetall, um die bestmögliche Wärmeableitung zu gewährleisten.

Leistung - Weiterhin nur AMDs Rembrandt-SoC

Minisforum stattet den Neptune Series HX77G mit dem AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS aus. Gegenüber dem HX99G gibt es somit nur ein neues SoC, welches allerdings nicht unbedingt mehr Leistung mitbringt. Mit acht nativen Rechenkernen und 16 Threads ist das SoC für Multithread-Aufgaben gut gewappnet. Beim Arbeitsspeicher vertraut Minisforum auf den aktuellen DDR5-Standard. Mit der AMD Radeon RX 6600M gibt es eine leistungsstarke Grafikkarte mit 8-GB-VRAM.

Testbedingungen

Alle Leistungstests haben wir mit dem Energieprofil Höchstleistung durchgeführt. Die Leistung der CPU haben wir nicht verändert und gemäß der BIOS-Einstellungen im Auto-Modus (Auslieferungszustand) belassen.

Prozessor

Der AMD Ryzen7 7735HS ist ein moderner 8-Kern-Prozessor und gehört zur Rembrandt Serie. Insgesamt kann das SoC 16 Threads parallel verarbeiten, womit eine gute Multi-Thread-Leistung zu erwarten ist. Im Minisforum Neptune Series HX77G wird der AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX abgelöst, womit letztlich die Performance nur geringfügig gesteigert werden konnte, denn im Kern handelt es sich um den gleichen Prozessor mit einer etwas geringeren Leistungsaufnahme und einer geringeren Taktfrequenz. Dennoch sehen wir im gemittelten Durchschnitt eine leicht bessere Leitung beim Minisforum Neptune Series HX77G gegenüber dem Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G.

Minisforum Neptune Series HX77G bei der Cinebench-R15-Multi-Schleife

Während der Cinebench-R15-Dauerschleife schauen wir uns das Verhalten des SoC über einen längeren Zeitraum unter Belastung an. Alle 50 Durchläufe absolviert der Minisforum Neptune Series HX77G ohne gravierenden Leistungsverlust. Dennoch sehen wir, dass etwa zur Hälfte des Tests die CPU-Leistung etwas nachlässt, sich dann aber wieder stabilisiert. Gegenüber den Kontrahenten reicht es für unser Testsample, sich den zweiten Platz zu sichern.

System Performance

Einen großen technischen Unterschied zum Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G gibt es bei unserem Testsample nicht. Jedoch sehen wir auch bei den synthetischen Tests eine minimal bessere Performance, wenngleich die Leistung des Intel Dragon Canyon NUC auf Basis des Intel Core i9-12900 nicht ganz erreicht werden kann. Bei den RAM-Tests kann sich unser Testgerät allerdings an die Spitze setzen. Selbst der Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G, welche ebenfalls mit DDR5-RAM ausgestattet ist, kann hier übertroffen werden.
