Als "K"-Modell bietet der 9980HK einen offenen Multiplikator und kann dadurch relativ einfach übertaktet werden.

Die integrierte Grafikkarte hört auf den Namen UHD Graphics 630 und entspricht der alten HD Graphics 630. Die Leistungsaufnahme ist mit 45 Watt TDP spezifiziert. Dank freiem Multiplikator ist ein Übertakten der CPU möglich. Der Core i9 ist das Topmodell der Coffee Lake-H Notebook-Modelle und damit schnellste Notebook-CPU in 2018.

Die einzelnen Kerne haben sich bei Coffee Lake im Vergleich zu Kaby Lake nicht verändert.
