Der Intel Core i7-10750H ist ein Sechskern-SoC für Notebooks, der auf der auf der Comet-Lake-Architektur basiert (CML-H, 4. Generation der Skylake Architektur). Er taktet die sechs Prozessorkerne mit 2,6 - 5 GHz (Ein- und Zweikern Turbo, 4,3 GHz bei allen 6 Kernen). Die integrierte Grafikkarte hört auf den Namen UHD Graphics 630 und entspricht der alten HD Graphics 630. Die Leistungsaufnahme ist mit 45 Watt TDP spezifiziert und kann vom Notebookhersteller auf 35 Watt heruntergesetzt werden (configurable TDP = cTDP Down). Im Vergleich zum Vorgänger dem Core i7-9750H wurden nur die Taktfrequenzen erhöht, sonst gibt es keine Unterschiede.
Die einzelnen Kerne haben sich bei Comet Lake im Vergleich zu Kaby Lake nicht verändert. Die Leistung pro Takt bleibt also gleich und auch die Fertigung ist im Vergleich zu Coffee Lake die selbe (14nm++). Auch die Grafikkarte wurde nicht verbessert, sondern lediglich teilweise höher getaktet. Der integrierte Speichercontroller unterstützt nun DDR4-2933.
Der i7-10750H unterstützt kein vPro, TXT und SIPP, für diese Business Features ist der später erscheinende Core i7-10850H mit 100-200 MHz höheren Taktfrequenzen geeignet.
Mit einem spezifizierten TDP von 45 Watt eignet sich der i7-10750H am besten für große und schwere Notebooks. Optional kann er per Configurable TDP-down auf 35 Watt gedrosselt werden (mit dadurch geringerer Leistung).
AMD Ryzen 7 4980U ► remove from comparison
Der AMD Ryzen 7 4980U ist ein Mobilprozessor für kleine und leichte Notebooks basierend auf die Renoir Generation. Der SoC beinhaltet acht Zen 2 Kerne (Octa-Core CPU) welche mit bis zu 4,4 GHz getaktet werden (Turbo) und SMT / Hyperthreading (16 Threads) unterstützen. Der Chip wird im modernen 7nm Prozess bei TSMC gefertigt und soll laut AMD eine 2x verbesserte Performance pro Watt bieten als die Ryzen 3000 APUs (z.B. den Ryzen 7 3700U Vorgänger). Im Vergleich zum ähnlich benannten Ryzen 7 4800H , bietet der 4980U einen deutlich geringeren Basistakt und der TDP ist um 30 Watt geringer.
Durch die hohen Taktraten, sollte die CPU etwas schneller als der Ryzen 7 5700U (ebenfalls Zen2, 1,8 - 4,3 GHz) aber wahrscheinlich langsamer als der Zen 3 basierten Ryzen 7 5800U (2,9 - 4,4 GHz). Dank der 8 Rechenkerne ist die Multikernleistung hervorragend. Der hohe Turbo von 4,4 GHz sollte aber auch zu einer sehr guten Einzelkernleistung verhelfen. Dadurch sollte der R7 4980U, bei ausreichender Kühlung, zu einem der schnellsten 15-Watt-Prozessoren gehören.
Der SoC integriert neben den acht Prozessorkernen noch eine Radeon RX Vega 8 Grafikkarte mit 8 CUs und bis zu 1750 MHz Takt, einen Dual-Channel DDR4-3200 / LPDDR4-4266 Speicherkontroller und 8 MB Level 3 Cache. Der TDP ist laut Microsoft 15 Watt (Default) und sollte sich daher gut für das Surface Laptop 4 eignen.
