Der Intel Core i7-9750H ist ein Sechskern-SoC für Notebooks, der auf der auf der Coffee-Lake-Architektur basiert (Refresh in 2019 CFL-HR). Er taktet die sechs Prozessorkerne mit 2,6 - 4,5 GHz (Ein- und Zweikern Turbo) bzw. maximal 4 GHz wenn alle Kerne ausgelastet sind. Die integrierte Grafikkarte hört auf den Namen UHD Graphics 630 und entspricht der alten HD Graphics 630. Die Leistungsaufnahme ist mit 45 Watt TDP spezifiziert und kann vom Notebookhersteller auf 35 Watt heruntergesetzt werden (configurable TDP = cTDP Down). Im Vergleich zum Vorgänger dem Core i7-8750H wurden nur die Taktfrequenzen und der L3 Cache erhöht, sonst gibt es keine Unterschiede.
Die einzelnen Kerne haben sich bei Coffee Lake im Vergleich zu Kaby Lake nicht verändert. Die Leistung pro Takt bleibt also gleich und Coffee Lake kann nur durch die leicht verbesserte Fertigung (14nm++) und die zusätzlichen Kerne punkten. Auch die Grafikkarte wurde nicht verbessert, sondern lediglich teilweise höher getaktet.
Mit einem spezifizierten TDP von 45 Watt eignet sich der i7-9750H am besten für große und schwere Notebooks. Optional kann er per Configurable TDP-down auf 35 Watt gedrosselt werden (mit dadurch geringerer Leistung).

Der Intel Core Ultra 7 268V ist ein höherwertiger Prozessor der Lunar Lake Familie. Dabei handelt es sich um ein SoC für den Einsatz in Laptops und Tablets der schlankeren Art, das über 4 brandneue E-Kerne und 4 etwas neue P-Kerne verfügt, die mit 2,2 GHz bis zu 5,0 GHz laufen, zusammen mit dem vielversprechenden neuen Arc 140V iGPU und 32 GB integriertem LPDDR5x-8533 RAM. Eine neue 48 TOPS neuronale Engine, TB 4 und PCIe 5 SSD Unterstützung sind ebenfalls enthalten.
Der einzige Unterschied zwischen diesem Chip und dem Ultra 7 266V ist die Menge des integrierten Arbeitsspeichers: 32 GB vs. 16 GB.
Architektur und Eigenschaften
Lunar Lake wird mit der Foveros-Technologie (Stapeln mehrerer Dies über- und nebeneinander) gebaut, genau wie Meteor Lake. Diese neuen Chips nutzen die enorme BGA2833-Sockelschnittstelle; Lion Cove P-Kerne ersetzen Redwood-Kerne, während Crestmont E-Kerne zugunsten von Skymont entsorgt wurden, wobei letzterer Berichten zufolge so energieeffizient ist, dass die zusätzlichen 2 Low Power Island CPU-Kerne, die Meteor Lake hatte, völlig überflüssig sind. Von den 8 Kernen ist kein einziger Hyper-Threading-fähig, was das Gegenteil von dem ist, was AMD derzeit mit seinen Zen 5/5c Chips.
Intel behauptet, dass die Lion Cove Kerne eine 14%ige IPC-Verbesserung mit sich bringen. Bei Skymont sind es 68%. Auch andere generationsübergreifende Verbesserungen sind vorhanden, wie z.B. die Low Latency Fabric, die kleine Datentransfers zwischen Kernen/Caches viel schneller machen soll. An anderer Stelle verfügt der 268V über 4 PCIe 5 und 4 PCIe 4 Lanes für den Anschluss verschiedener Geräte, einschließlich NVMe SSDs mit bis zu 15,75 GB/s. Die Unterstützung für TB 4 ist standardmäßig an Bord, ebenso wie die Unterstützung für CNVi WiFi 7 + BT 5.4 Karten von Intel. Die 48 TOPS AI Boost neuronale Engine ist zusammen mit Technologien wie Threat Detection vorhanden, um KI-fähige Anwendungen wie den Windows Defender noch leistungsfähiger zu machen.
Das 268V wird mit 32 GB nicht austauschbarem LPDDR5X-8533 RAM ausgeliefert.
Performance
Die effizienten Kerne des Chips laufen mit bis zu 3,7 GHz. Bei den P-Kernen sind es bis zu 5,0 GHz.
Wir erwarten, dass der durchschnittliche 268V sehr nahe an älteren AMD- und Intel-Chips der U-Klasse liegt, wie z.B. dem Ryzen 7 6800U und Core i7-1355U wenn es um die Multi-Thread-Leistung geht.
Grafik
Die Arc Grafik 140V verfügt über 8 Kerne der Xe²-Architektur, die mit bis zu 2.000 MHz laufen, sowie über 8 Raytracing-Einheiten. Sie ist DirectX 12 Ultimate-fähig und kann eine lange Liste gängiger Videocodecs wie h.266 VVC, h.265 HEVC, h.264 AVC, AV1 und VP9 HW-dekodieren. Drei SUHD 4320p Monitore können gleichzeitig mit dieser iGPU verwendet werden.
Die Leistung in der Praxis wird ungefähr so gut sein wie die der Radeon 780M und die Arc 8 liefern.
Stromverbrauch
Die meisten Lunar Lake Prozessoren wie auch der 268V haben ein langfristiges Stromverbrauchsziel von 17 W. Der von Intel empfohlene kurzfristige PL-Wert liegt bei 37 W.
