Die Nvidia T1200 Laptop GPU (früher Quadro T1200 für Laptops) ist eine professionelle Grafikkarte für Notebooks und mobile Workstations der Mittelklasse. Sie basiert auf den selben TU117 Turing-Chip wie die Consumer GTX 1650 Ti für Laptops. Im Gegensatz zur stärkeren RTX A2000, bietet die T1200 keine Raytracing und Tensor-Kerne.

Die Leistung der T1200 für Laptops hängt stark von der eingesetzten TGP-Variante und Kühlung ab. Diese kann laut Nvidia von 35 - 95 Watt maximalen Stromverbrauch festgesetzt werden und unterscheidet sich daher deutlich bei Taktraten und Performance. Daher ist es wichtig zu wissen welche TGP Variante im Notebook eingesetzt wird. Es gibt nun keine Max-Q Variante mehr (die 35+ Versionen heissen auch nur "Laptop GPU"), aber jede TGP-Version kann die Max-Q Technologien nutzen (Dynamic Boost, WhisperMode).

Die professionellen Grafikkarten bieten zertifizierte Treiber, welche auf Stabiltität und Performance bei professionellen Anwendungen (CAD-, DCC-, Medizin-, Prospektions-, Visualisierungsanwendungen) optimiert sind. Dadurch ist die Performance im Vergleich zu den Consumergrafikkarten mit gleichem Chip in diesen Bereichen deutlich besser.

Bei der Turing Architektur gab es auch auf der Ebene der CUDA-Kerne deutliche Verbesserungen. Float und INT Operationen können nun gleichzeitig ausgeführt werden, der Cache wurde vereinheitlicht und verbessert und Adaptive Shading eingeführt. Nvidia spricht dadurch von einer bis zu 50% höheren Leistung pro Kern im Vergleich zu Pascal. Bei den stärkeren Modellen wird jedoch schon der Nachfolger, die Ampere Generation, eingesetzt.

AMD Radeon RX 570 (Desktop)

Die AMD Radeon RX 570 ist eine Desktop-Grafikkarte und wurde im April 2017 vorgestellt. Nach der RX 580 war diese die zweitschnellste Grafikkarte auf Basis des Polaris 20 Grafikchips. Die AMD Radeon RX 570 basiert auf der GCN-Architektur (4.0) und ist mit dem GDDR5-VRAM ausgestattet. Sowohl 4 GB als auch 8 GB Modellvarianten sind auf dem Markt erhältlich. Als im November 2018 dann mit der AMD Radeon RX 590 eine Neuauflage des Polaris-Grafikchips veröffentlicht wurde, ist die RX 570 nunmehr dritte Kraft im Bereich der Polaris Grafikkarten. 

Laut Herstellerangaben taktet der Grafikchip der AMD Radeon RX 570 mit 1.168 - 1.244 MHz (Boost). Der VRAM ist mit einem 256 Bit angebunden und taktet mit  1.750 MHz (effektiv 7.000 MHz), woraus eine Speicherbandbreite von 224 GB/s resultiert.

Features

Der Polaris-20-Grafikchip wird im 14-nm-Verfahren gefertigt. Der Die misst 232 mm² und vereint  ca. 5,7 Mrd. Transistoren. Damit ist der Polaris-Grafikchip im Vergleich zum Vega-Grafikchip deutlich kleiner. Insgesamt bietet die Radeon RX 570 2.048 Shadereinheiten.

Performance

Die Leistung der AMD Radeon RX 570 liegt etwas unterhalb einer Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060. Mit dieser Leistung sortiert sich die AMD Radeon RX 570 in der Mittelkasse der Desktop-Grafikkarten ein. Spiele der letzten Jahre und auch aktuelle Titel des Jahres 2019 lassen sich mit der AMD Radeon RX 570 in hohen Einstellungen und FHD-Auflösung (1.920 x 1.080 Pixel) flüssig spielen.

Leistungsaufnahme

Die Leistungsaufnahme der AMD Radeon RX 570 wird vom Hersteller mit 120 Watt angegeben. In Sachen Watt pro Leistung verliert die Radeon RX 570 gegenüber der GeForce GTX 1060 von Nvidia (ebenfalls 120 Watt TDP) etwas, da diese oftmals bessere Frameraten liefert.

NVIDIA T550 Laptop GPU

Die Nvidia T550 Mobile (oder auch Quadro T550 Mobile) für Laptops ist eine professionelle Grafikkarte für Notebooks und mobile Workstations der Einstiegsklasse. Sie basiert auf den selben TU117 Turing-Chip wie die Consumer GeForce MX550 und bietet ebenso 1024 Shader und einen 64 Bit Speicherbus. Der Boost-Takt ist jedoch anscheinend etwas höher. Die T550 bietet 4 GB GDDR6 und in Verbindung mit dem 64 Bit Speicherbus ergibt dies eine maximale Bandbreite von 112 GB/s.

Bietet keine eigenen Displayoutputs und muss daher gemeinsam mit einer iGPU betrieben werden und nutzt deren Ausgabe über Optimus.
