Intel Core i7-10700K Desktop-Prozessor

Mit dem Intel Core i7-10700K bietet Intel neben den Top-Modellen mit 10 Kernen auch einen 8-Kerner auf Basis der Comet-Lake-S-Architektur an. Dieser bietet zudem Hyperthreading und schlägt den Vorgänger in Multi-Thread-Anwendungen deutlich. Fürs Gaming ist diese CPU jedenfalls bestens geeignet.

Intel Core i7-10700K

Der Intel Core i7-10700K ist eine High-End-CPU mit zehn Kernen auf Basis der neuen Comet-Lake-Architektur, die Ende April 2020 bereits angekündigt wurde. Der Prozessor taktet mit 3,8-5,1 GHz und kann dank Hyperthreading bis zu 16 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Gefertigt wird der Intel Core i7-10700K weiterhin im 14-nm-Prozess. Dank des freien Multiplikators lässt sich der Prozessor vergleichsweise einfach übertakten. Voraussetzung hierfür ist jedoch ein Mainboard mit dem Z490 Chipsatz.

Performance

Im Vergleich zum Intel Core i7-9700K bietet der Core i7-10700K nun Hyperthreading, was bei Multi-Thread-Anwendungen für einen spürbaren Performance-Schub sorgt. Die Single-Core-Leistung bleibt nahezu unverändert auf dem Niveau des Core i7-9700K. Dank des TVB (Thermal Velocity Boost) kann der Intel Core i7-10700K bis zu 5,1 GHz auf einem Kern erreichen. Im Vergleich dazu kam der Coer i7-9700K nur auf 4,9 GHz. Gleichwohl liegt der All-Core-Boost des Core i7-10700K noch bei 4,7 GHz. Allerdings spielen hierfür viele Faktoren eine Rolle viele Faktoren (Art des Workloads, Anzahl aktiver CPU-Kerne, kalkulierte Stromstärke, kalkulierte Leistungsaufnahme, CPU-Temperatur). Das Top-Modell, der Intel Core i9-10900K legt hier sogar noch eine Schippe drauf und bietet einen All-Core-Boost von bis zu 4,9 GHz.

Grafikeinheit

Wie schon zuvor bietet auch der Intel Core i7-10700K mit der Intel UHD Graphics 630 eine iGPU, welche sich aber aufgrund der geringen Leistung nicht für aufwendige Spiele eignet. Als Low-End-Lösung können aktuelle Videospiele, wenn überhaupt, lediglich in verminderter Detailstufe flüssig wiedergegeben werden. 

Leistungsaufnahme

Hier hat Intel deutliche Veränderungen vorgenommen und dem Intel Core i7-10700K einen Spielraum von bis zu 229 Watt (PL2) unter Volllast eingeräumt. Die angegebene TDP von 125 Watt (PL1) wird in den meisten Fällen fast immer überschritten, was an den geänderten PL2 (229 Watt) sowie dem Tau-Wert (56 Sekunden) liegt. Beim Intel Corei7-9700K lag der PL2-Wert noch bei 156 Watt. Der Tau-Wert betrug zu seiner Zeit nur 28 Sekunden. Aufgrund der deutlich höheren Leistungsaufnahme sollte der Core i7-10700K nur mit einer sehr leistungsstarken Kühlung verwendet werden.

Von Intel stammt der Core i7-10700K. Als weiteres hat uns MSI mit dem Mainboard unterstützt und von Caseking stammt das Raijintek Pean Showcase. Als Kühlung nutzen wir die Alphacool Eisbear 280 AiO.

Prozessor-Benchmarks

Beim direkten Vergleich mit dem Intel Core i7-9700K kann sich der neuere Core i7-10700K nur bei den Multi-Thread-Benchmarks deutlich absetzen. Die Single-Core-Leistung ist auf dem gleichen Niveau und auch der AMD Ryzen 9 3900X ist hier nicht schneller. Aufgrund seiner 12 Kerne kann sich dieser aber hier im Test vor unserem Sample bei den Multi-Core-Tests platzieren. Der Core i9-10900K kann hier noch einmal nachlegen und sich knapp 10 Prozent vor dem Core i7-10700K platzieren.

Bei den Anwendungsbenchmarks kann der Core i7-10700K den Abstand zum Top-Modell aus dem eigenen Hause deutlich verkleinern. Energieverbrauch

Sparsam im Leerlauf und durstig unter Last! So kann man den Energieverbrauch des Core i7-10700K mit einem Satz bewerten. Doch immer der Reihe nach. Das Power-Target (PL1) liegt bei 125 Watt, was gegenüber dem Core i7-9700K schon ein Zuwachs von 30 Watt bedeutet. Zudem erhöht Intel die maximale Leistungsaufnahme (PL2) auf 229 Watt. Zugleich wird auch der Tau-Wert für PL2 um den Faktor zwei erhöht, womit nun 56 Sekunden lang dieser hohe Energieverbrauch anliegen darf. Das erfordert nun auch eine deutlich anspruchsvollere Kühleinheit.

In unserem Test ist die Energieaufnahme des Intel Core i7-10700K mit einem AMD Ryzen 9 3900X vergleichbar. Nur 7 Watt trennen die beiden Systeme bei der Cinebench-R15-Multi-Schleife zugunsten von Intel.
