NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M

Die Nvidia Quadro NVS 160M ist eine Business-Grafikkarte für Notebooks. Die Quadro NVS Serie ist optimiert auf "Zuverlässigkeit und Stabilität" (laut Nvidia).

Der NVS 160M Chip basiert auf den Chip in der GeForce 9300M GS, jedoch sind Treiber und Bios für Unternehmensanwendungen und Stabilität optimiert. Eine kurze Liste welche Applikationen von Nvidia getestet wurden, findet man hier online (MS Office, Exceed, Notes, McAffee, pcAnywhere, Bloomberg, Reuters, Tradestation, ... derzeit).Im Test zeigte sich jedoch die selbe Spieleperformance wie der Consumer 9300M GS Chip (Dell Latitude E6500 Test). Dadurch reicht die Spiele bzw 3D Performance nur für ältere Spiele bzw. Anwendungen mit geringen Anforderungen.

Wie auch die 9300M GS unterstützt die NVS 160M PureVideo HD zur Dekodierung von (HD) Videos. Dadurch wird die CPU bei dieser Aufgabe entlastet.

Die Speichertaktung ist je nach eingesetzem Speicher unterschiedlich. GDDR3 Speicher wird mit 700 MHz getaktet, GDDR2 mit jediglich 400 MHz. Dies führt auch zu einer spürbar geringeren Leistung mit GDDR2.
