NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT SLI

Die NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT SLI sind 2  DirectX 10 fähige Grafikkarten, die per SLI verbunden sind. Technisch besitzt jede Karte wie die 8600M GT 32 Stream Prozessoren, jedoch ist der Kern-, Shader- und Speichertakt deutlich höher. Dadurch liegt die Performance einer einzelnen Karte auch über der 8600M GT (laut Werbeaussagen von NVIDIA sogar deutlich) und sollte für alle aktuellen Spiele in hohen Spielen ausreichen. Die SLI Verbindung bringt nicht die Doppelte Leistung und ist abhängig von der Unterstützung im Spiel.

Die 3D Mark Werte sind (wie bei allen Grafikkarten der 8000er Serie) sehr gut. Jedoch beschneidet der 128 Bit Bus der einzelnen Grafikkarten die Spieleperformance in hohen Auflösungen (bzw. bei aktivierten Antialiasing). Zum Beispiel bei F.E.A.R. erreicht das SLI Gespann nicht einmal die Werte einer einzelnen 7950 GTX. Trotzdem ist es die schnellste Grafiklösung für Notebooks mit DirectX 10 Support und ermöglicht es auch alle neuesten DX 10 Spiele flüssig zu spielen.

Eine Besonderheit der Grafikkarte sind die "Unified Shader". Es existieren keine dedizierten Pixel- bzw Vertexshader mehr, sondern 32 so genannte Stream Prozessoren übernehmen einfach die anstehende Grafikarbeit (die früher die Pixel und Vertex Shader übernommen haben).

Treibern zufolge soll die 8700M GT auch intern NB8E-SE (8800M GS) genannt wurde.
