NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX

Die NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX ist der Nachfolger der 7900 GTX und übernimmt die Leistungsspitze bei den mobilen Grafikkarten bis zur Einführung der 8800M GTX. Alle aktuellen DirectX 9 Spiele aus 2006 sollten in höchsten Auflösungen flüssig laufen. Die Abwärme ist aber auch demensprechend hoch und kann deswegen nur in DTR Notebooks (17") eingesetzt werden. Trotzdem ist die Leistungsaufnahme genauso hoch wie bei der 7900 GTX.

Die integrierte Nvidia Purevideo Technologie bietet einen flexibel programmierbaren Videoprozessor und kann H.264, MPEG-2 und WMV in HD-Qualität Hardware-beschleunigen (zur Entlastung der CPU). Der Chip  unterstützt Raum-Zeit-adaptives De-Interalcing, Inverse Telecine und horizontale und vertikale Skalierung. Im Vergleich zu den neueren 8700M GT Chip fehlen jedoch einige Videofunktionen. > Vergleichstabelle bei Nvidia

Die Leistung kann in etwa mit der Desktop 7950 GT Grafikkarten verglichen werden (teilweise sogar minimal besser laut NVIDIA). Aktuelle Spiele, wie F.E.A.R., Company of Heroes, Call of Duty 2 können in höchsten Details mit hohen Auflösungen gespielt werden.
