NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Super (Desktop) Grafikkarte

Mit der GeForce GTX 1650 Super gibt es eine preiswerte Turing-GPU von Nvidia, welche mit dem TU116-Grafikchip ausgestattet ist. Die Leistungsaufnahme beträgt 100 Watt, was den Betrieb ohne einen zusätzlichen Stromanschluss nicht möglich macht. Die preiswerteste Turing-Grafikkarte von Nvidia hört noch immer auf den Namen GeForce GTX 1650. Mit der GeForce GTX 1650 Super gibt es aber mittlerweile ein weiteres preiswertes Einstiegsmodell. Die größten Veränderungen im Vergleich zur non-Super-Variante der GTX 1650 gibt es beim verbauten Grafikchip und dem VRAM. Den Grafikchip kennen wir bereits von der GeForce GTX 1660 oder auch der GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, wenngleich die Anzahl der Shader bei der GeForce GTX 1650 Super mit 1.280 etwas geringer ausfällt. Beim VRAM gibt es nun auch den schnelleren GDDR6, allerdings weiterhin nur mit 4 GB. Dennoch hat die GeForce GTX 1650 Super leichtes Spiel die GeForce GTX 1650 leistungsmäßig deutlich zu übertreffen.

Aufgrund der Kompaktheit eignet sich die Grafikkarte für kleine Gehäuse. Der Energiebedarf ist mit 100 Watt angegeben, was die Lücke zwischen der GeForce GTX 1650 und der GeForce GTX 1660 schließt. Das von uns getestete Modell von KFA2 hat intern einen 6-Pin-Stromanschluss und bietet extern einmal DVI-D, einmal DisplayPort 1.4 und einmal HDMI 2.0b. Die Herstellergarantie beträgt bei KFA2 zwei Jahre.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Super (Desktop)

Die Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Super für Desktops ist eine Einstiegs-Gaming-Grafikkarte basierend auf der Turing Architektur. Der TU116 getaufte Chip und wurde im November 2019 vorgestellt. Die GTX 1650 Serie bietet im Unterschied zu den stärkeren RTX 2000er Karten (z.B. RTX 2060) keine Raytracing und Tensor Kerne. Die Leistung ist etwas besser als bei der GeForce GTX 1650 und Vergleichbar mit der AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT. 

Bei der Turing Architektur gab es auch auf der Ebene der CUDA-Kerne deutliche Verbesserungen. Float und INT Operationen können nun gleichzeitig ausgeführt werden, der Cache wurde vereinheitlicht und verbessert und Adaptive Shading eingeführt. Nvidia spricht dadurch von einer bis zu 50% höheren Leistung pro Kern im Vergleich zu Pascal.

Von den Vorteilen des TU116 Chips profitiert die neue Einsteigerkarte, denn die neuere NVENC Videokodierung liefert im Vergleich zu Pascal mehr Performance.

Nvidia spezifiziert einen Stromverbrauch von 100 Watt TGP (Total Graphics Power) für die Grafikkarte. Der TU11 Chip wird bei TSMC im 12nm FFN Verfahren gefertigt.

Unser Testsystem mit AMD Ryzen 9 5900X als Basis

Als Testsystem dient eine aktuelle AMD-Plattform auf Basis des Asus X570 ROG Crosshair VIII Hero WiFi. Die CPU (AMD Ryzen 9 5900Xbietet eine gute CPU-Leistung und als Kühlung nutzen wir eine AIO (Alphacool Eisbear Aurora 360 mm). Der 32-GB-Arbeitsspeicher stammt von Corsair und taktet mit 4.000 MHz. Als Monitor nutzen wir den Acer Predator XB321HK. Dieser schränkt uns aufgrund der UHD-Tauglichkeit nicht ein. Ein großer Dank geht an dieser Stelle an AMD für die Bereitstellung der Testplattform, sowie an Corsair für das RAM-Kit.

Synthetische Benchmarks

Wie man schon vermuten konnte reiht sich unsere KFA2 GeForce GTX 1650 Super mit einem deutlichen Vorsprung von der GeForce GTX 1650 ein. Der Respektabstand zur GTX 1660 bleibt allerdings bestehen. Gleichzeitig haben wir zum Vergleich auch eine AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT herangezogen, da diese in der gleichen Leistungsklasse grassiert. Die GTX 1650 Super kann die Karte aus dem roten Lager nur in wenigen Benchmarks ärgern. Gleichwohl bleibt abzuwarten ob sich das hier gezeigte Ergebnis auch auf die Spieletests übertragen lässt.

Bei unseren Spiele-Benchmarks schlägt sich die KFA2 GeForce GTX 1650 Super gut und mit wenigen Ausnahmen meistert die Grafikkarte fast alle Spiele in 1080p und maximalen Details. Gegen die AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT muss sich unser Testsample jedoch geschlagen geben. Das Leistungsplus gegenüber einer GeForce GTX 1650 ist allerdings deutlich spürbar, variiert aber auch von Spiel zu Spiel.

Für den Frameverlauf und die Frametimes nutzen wir The Witcher 3 mit dem Ultra-Preset. Dabei fällt auf, dass die FPS nicht konstant gehalten werden können. Dennoch muss man sagen, dass es sich hierbei nicht um einen spürbaren Leistungsabfall handelt. Bei den aufgezeichneten Frametimes gibt es hin und wider ein paar Ausreißer, wenngleich das flüssige Spielgeschehen dadurch aber nicht signifikant gestört wird.

Emissionen der KFA2 GeForce GTX 1650

Wer sich für den Kauf einer GeForce GTX 1650 Super entscheidet, schaut vermutlich primär auf den Stromverbrauch der Grafikkarte. Mit 100 Watt ist das Modell recht sparsam, wenngleich aber das non-Super-Modell nur 75 Watt benötigte. Das zeigt sich auch in unseren Messergebnissen. Im Leerlauf benötigt unser Testsystem nur 87 Watt. Beim Stresstest sind es dann schon 229 Watt, was aber im Vergleich zum Testsystem mit der AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT aber deutlich geringer ist.

Beim Spielen ist der Energiebedarf mit 241 Watt sogar noch etwas höher, was aber im Vergleich noch immer als gering eingestuft werden kann. Im Vergleich zur GeForce GTX 1650 fällt der Energiebedarf knapp 40 Watt höher aus. Und dennoch ist die KFA2 GeForce GTX 1650 Super eine sparsame Grafikkarte für kleine Systeme. Bei den Temperaturen gibt es keinen Anlass zur Sorge, denn nur 70 °C erreichte unser Testsample beim Stresstest. Kritik gibt es aber dennoch an der Kühleinheit. Diese ist unter Last hörbar und einen Fan-Stop-Mode für den 2D-Betrieb gibt es bei dem Modell aus dem Hause KFA2 leider auch nicht.

Die Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Super ist eine sparsame Grafikkarte, welche sich für den heimischen Wohnzimmer-PC eignet. Mit dem TU116-Grafikchtp bietet die GTX 1650 Super und auch die Vorteile der GTX 1660-Serie, wenn es um die NVENC Videokodierung geht. Preislich lässt sich diese Grafikkarte momentan sehr schlecht einordnen, da die problematische Verfügbarkeit der Grafikkarten inzwischen auch die Einstiegsmodelle erreicht hat und auch hier schon deutlich steigende Preis zu beobachten sind. Preise ab 160 Euro findet man zum Beispiel auf dem Gebrauchtwarenmarkt.

Rein leistungstechnisch ordnet sich die GeForce GTX 1650 Super direkt hinter einer GeForce GTX 1660 ein. Der VRAM ist mit 4 GB etwas knapp bemessen, wenn man etwas Langfristiges sucht. Momentan lassen sich aber viele Spiele in 1080p auch mit dieser Grafikkarte flüssig spielen, ohne auf Details verzichten zu müssen. Nur einige wenige Spiele verlangen nach einer Reduzierung der Details für flüssige Frameraten.

Auf der Suche nach einer kleinen und zugleich leistungsstarken Grafikkarte führt momentan kein Weg an der GeForce GTX 1650 Super vorbei.

Objektiv betrachtet ist die KFA2 GeForce GTX 1650 Super eine solide Grafikkarte für den Einstieg. Beim verbauten Kühlsystem gibt es aber etwas Kritik. Denn ein Fan-Stop-Mode für den 2D-Betrieb wäre wünschenswert und eine geringere Lautstärke bei 3D-Anwendungen würde die Grafikkarte attraktiver machen.
